Prevalence of coronary artery disease in patients with left bundle branch block and its association with risk factors hypertension and diabetes mellitus
...Show More Authors
Abstract
<title>Background:

Left bundle branch block (LBBB) is a common finding in electrocardiography, there are many causes of LBBB.

Objectives:

The aim of this study is to discuss the true prevalence of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with LBBB and associated risk factors in the form of hypertension and diabetes mellitus.

Materials and Methods:

Patients with LBBB were admitted to the Iraqi heart center for cardiac disease in December 2017 to the end of April 2021; all patients underwent coronary angiography and they are classified into three groups: group 1: patients with proximal left anterior descending artery (LAD) or mid-LAD and either left circumflex artery (LCX) or right coronary artery (RCA) with lesion consider significant if more than 70% stenosis of the artery, group 2: patients with either isolated LCX or RCA with lesion if more than 70% stenosis of the artery, group 3: patients with normal coronary artery.

Results:

The most important finding in this study is that the percentage of LAD artery lesions or two vessels disease was only 24.5%. Patients in group 1 showed a high prevalence of hypertension (77.6%), whereas in group 3, the prevalence of hypertension was 47.95%. In this study, the prevalence of diabetes mellitus in group 1 was high (62.2%), whereas in group 3, it was 32%.

Conclusion:

High prevalence of men with LBBB than women, and the prevalence of LBBB increases with age. Patients who had hypertension and diabetes mellitus with LBBB most likely had an ischemic cause of LBBB, but patients with LBBB had low ejection fraction (EF) 369 out of 400 patients (90%) had low EF.

Non thermal argon plasma needle at atmospheric pressure was constructed. The experimental set up was based on simple and low cost electric components that generate electrical field sufficiently high at the electrodes to ionize various gases which flow at atmospheric pressure. A high AC power supply was used with 9.6kV peak to peak and 33kHz frequency. The plasma was generated using two electrodes. The voltage and current discharge waveform were measured. The temperature of Ar gas plasma jet at different gas flow rate and distances from the plasma electrode was also recorded. It was found that the temperature increased with increasing frequency to reach the maximum value at 15 kHz, and that the current leading the voltage, which demonstra

The city of Derna has distinctive architectural and architectural features, like other Arab and Islamic cities in the Arab West and North Africa. Its markets and shops have taken many different forms and structural forms within the urban fabric of the central commercial zone. The meeting between the various commercial and handicraft jobs and consumers within a spatial area starting with the old markets of the dark market and the agency of the harvest and vegetable market and the mosque of the old and the square of the mosque and the Red Square and the square Kharazin. It then grew linearly towards commercial hubs that were associated with the city's expansion axes. Old markets represent the architectural and planning heritage associated

PV connected systems are worldwide installed because it allows consumer to reduce energy consumption from the electricity grid. This paper presents the results obtained from monitoring a 1.1 kWp. The system was monitored for nine months and all the electricity generated was fed to the fifth floor for physics and renewable energy building   220 V, 50 Hz. Monthly, and daily performance parameters of the PV system are evaluated which include: average generated of system Ah per day, average system efficiency, solar irradiation around these months. The average generated kWh per day was 8 kWh/day, the average solar irradiation per day was 5.6 kWh/m2/day, the average inverter efficiency was 95%, the average modules efficien

Resilience of Desert Cities: Between Reality and Ambition
...Show More Authors

This article aims to explore the characteristics of resilient city systems, which play a key role in urban and spatial planning. It also aims to create desert cities that achieve sustainable development goals and are able to withstand dynamic changes, as well as current and unforeseen challenges and crises. The Resilient City Framework tool was applied to the city of Najaf. This tool assessed the city's resilience based on principles such as quality of life, health, society and economy, infrastructure and ecosystems, strategic leadership, and governance. The results demonstrated the tool's success in assessing the city's resilience characteristics across all sectors. Furthermore, the findings revealed that resilience assessment tools are an

This paper proposes feedback linearization control (FBLC) based on function approximation technique (FAT) to regulate the vibrational motion of a smart thin plate considering the effect of axial stretching. The FBLC includes designing a nonlinear control law for the stabilization of the target dynamic system while the closed-loop dynamics are linear with ensured stability. The objective of the FAT is to estimate the cubic nonlinear restoring force vector using the linear parameterization of weighting and orthogonal basis function matrices. Orthogonal Chebyshev polynomials are used as strong approximators for adaptive schemes. The proposed control architecture is applied to a thin plate with a large deflection that stimulates the axial loadi

Ferrite with the general formula CuLayFe2-yO4 (where y=0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08 and 0.1), were prepared by standard ceramic technique. The main cubic spinel structure phase for all samples was confirmed by x-ray diffraction patterns with the appearance of small amount of secondary phases. The lattice parameter results were 8.285-8.348 Å. X-ray density increased with La addition and showed values between 5.5826 – 5.7461gm/cm3. The Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) showed that the average grain size was decreasing with the increase in La concentration. The Hall coefficient was found to be positive. It de

Isradipine related to dihydropyridine (DHP) class of calcium channel blockers (CCBs). It is  used to treat hypertension, angina pectoris, as well as Parkinson disease. It goes under the BCS class II drug (low solubility-high permeability). The drug will experience extensive first-pass metabolism in liver, thus, oral bio-availability will be approximately15 to 24 %.

The aim of the study is preparing stable oral oil in water (o/w) nanoemulsion of isradipine to promote the colloidial dispersion of isradipine in the nano range, so that it may be absorded by intestinal lymphatic transport in order to avoid hepatic first-pass metabolism (israpidi

ABSTRACT

The controversy is currently revolving around industrial additives, including antioxidants, their negative effects on consumer health and the emergence of various and various diseases, which led scientists and researchers to intensify most studies on natural antioxidants and their synthesis from medicinal plants mentioned in ancient medicine and in divine books as potential antioxidants of increasing importance. Therefore, this study was designed to synthesize silver nitrate particles from plant leaf extracts (Figs, Olives, and Moringa) and study their effect on bacterial inhibition of each of the undesirable Coliform bacteria (E-Coli,
