Objectives: To evaluate the effect of vitamin D3 local injections on apical root resorption, alveolar bone integrity, and chair-side time following three and six months of canine retraction. Subjects and Methods: Seventeen adult patients (18-35 years old) of class I and II malocclusions were recruited, who required bilateral maxillary 1st premolars extraction before starting maxillary canines retraction. The calibration of a low-speed wind tunnel (LSWT) test section had been made in the present work. The tunnel was designed and constructed at the Aerodynamics Lab. in the Mechanical Engineering Department/University of Baghdad. The test section design speed is 70 m/s. Frictional loses and uniformity of the flow inside the test section had been tested and calibrated based on the British standards for flow inside ducts and conduits. Current study aimed to investigate the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in nasal
secretion and throat swab samples of hospitalized patients with symptoms of
respiratory tract infection using Immunofluorescence test. Previously these samples
were tested for Respiratory Syncytial Virus infection by reverse transcriptase-PCR
assay. The positive samples were tested by Immunofluorescence assay in monolayer
confluent of Hep 2 cell line. The results showed that the positive samples using the
RT-PCR test were positive in this test. These results reveal that Immunofluorescence
test is sensitive method for detection the infection with RSV.
