To study the comparative use of some soil minerals (zeolite, bentonite, phosphate rock, and limestone) in the adsorption and release of lead and its removal rates from its aqueous solutions using adsorption equations. Two laboratory experiments were carried out for the adsorption and release of lead. The adsorption experiment took 0.5 g of some of the above soil minerals. Lead was added as Pb (NO3)2 at levels of 3.0, 2.0, 1.5, 1.0, 0.5, and 0.0 mmol L-1 containing a concentration of 0.01M of calcium chloride. The experimental unit’s number was 72, the concentration of dissolved lead in the equilibrium solution was estimated and the amount of lead adsorbed was calculated. As for the lead release experiment, samples for the adsorption experiment were treated after separating filtrates from them with a calcium chloride solution with a concentration of 0.01 M. The amount of lead released was estimated. The percentage of lead removal was calculated. Results showed an increased concentration of dissolved lead in the equilibrium solution directly with increased levels of lead added to all materials. Materials were graded in concentrations of dissolved, adsorbed lead and values of maximum adsorption capacity of lead on different soil minerals surfaces as follows: zeolite > bentonite > phosphate rock > limestone, which reached 5000, 384.61, 769.23, and 2500 mg Pb kg-1, respectively. Binding energy was 0.0062, 0.0056, 0.0019, and 0.0049 L g-1, respectively. The amount of lead released from different adsorption materials varied, with the largest amount released in zeolite amounting to 322.10, 528.20, 696.90, 777.20, and 967.40 mg Pb kg-1 zeolite then bentonite, quantity reached 187.2, 272.8, 314.2, 324.0, and 375.6 mg Pb kg-1 bentonite, then phosphate rock, concentrations reached 65.80, 69.80, 77.60, 91.00, and 123.00 mg Pb kg-1 phosphate rock. Limestone came in fourth and last place in terms of the amount of lead released, concentrations were 25.10, 29.30, 35.00, 38.70, and 40.90 mg Pb L-1 for lead addition treatments of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 3.0 mmol L-1, respectively. Soil minerals used varied in their efficiency in removing lead from its aqueous solutions. Zeolite came in first place. Removal rate of lead reached 180.69%, then bentonite 95.47%, phosphate rock 18.48%, and finally limestone 58%.
New series of imidazole[1,2-a]pyridine-sulfonamides was designed and synthesized from 2-aminopyridine, which was reacted with p-bromo phenacyl bromide in the present of MgO to produce the corresponding imidazole[1,2-a]pyridine, which was then reacted with chlorosulfonic acid to produce 2-(4-bromophenyl)imidazole[1,2-a]pyridine-3-sulfonyl chloride [2]. Following that, treatment of (2) with different amines using the grand method to generate imidazole [1,2-a] pyridine sulfonamides. All the synthesized compounds have been characterized by FTIR, 1HNMR and 13CNMR and C.H.N analysis. The DFT, POM analysis and molecular docking were carried out on for all final compounds to investigate drug like attributes, and the results revealed showed that the

In this research the changes in water levels are observed by calculating the areas of five different lakes in five different regions and two different marshes in two different regions of the country, in a period of 12 years (2001 - 2012), archived remotely sensed images were used to determine surface areas around lakes and marshes in Iraq for the chosen years . Level of the lakes corresponding to satellite determined surface areas were retrieved from remotely sensed data .These data were collected to give explanations on lake level and surface area fluctuations. It is imp

The research aims to study the possibility of preparing a new type of ceramic membranes from Syrian zeolite that was not previously used in this field. In this research, ceramic membranes were prepared from Syrian raw zeolite in several stages. Zeolite sample was characterized, grinded, mixed with boric acid, pressed to form desks, treated thermally according to experiment program, finally coated with silver nanoparticles. Specifications of prepared membranes were determined according to reference methods, effectiveness of prepar

This study was conducted to determine the effect of various levels of hump fat (HF) used in manufacturing of camel, beef and chicken sausage to understand the effect of (HF) on physicochemical composition sausage, Different levels of hump fat (5, 7, and 10 %) were used, physicochemical compositions like (moisture, protein, fat, Ash, water holding capacity, shrinkage, cooking loss and pH) were determined. Results of the study revealed that moisture content showed high significant differences (P≤0.01)among treatments groups, Camel sausage and beef sausage tended to have highest values while chicken sausage reported the lowest value. The study showed no significant difference (P≤0.05) among the

In this study, mucilage was extracted from Malabar spinach and tested for drag-reducing properties in aqueous liquids flowing through pipelines. Friction produced by liquids flowing in turbulent mode through pipelines increase power consumption. Drag-reducing agents (DRA) such as polymers, suspended solids and surfactants are used to reduce power losses. There is a demand for natural, biodegradable DRA and mucilage is emerging as an attractive alternative to conventional DRAs. Literature review revealed that very little research has been done on the drag-reducing properties of this mucilage and there is an opportunity to explore the potential applications of mucilage from Malabar spinach.
