Effect of variation biomass on the properties of iron oxide NPs for hydrolysis of methylene blue dye
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Three plants extracts of Eucalyptus, Pomegranate and Oolong tea leaves have been used to synthesize iron oxide nanoparticles. The structure and particle size of the nanoparticles have been investigated by XRD spectrum. The results exhibit the polycrystalline nature of the material with a size around (17-19 nm). FESEM analysis showed that using different extracts as a reduction and capping agent might affect the shape of nanoparticles such as forming of round, polygon and irregular shapes under the same conditions. The photo catalyst activity of the prepared NPs in the degradation of MB dye has been investigated. the results showed a good efficiency reached to 91%, 88% and 80%.</p>

Effect of nano-TiO2 on physical and rheological properties of asphalt cement
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>In recent years, nano-modified asphalt has gained significant attraction from researchers in the design of asphalt pavement fields. The recently discovered Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2) are among the most exciting and promising nanomaterials. This study examines the effect of 1, 3, 5, and 7% of nano-TiO2 by weight of asphalt on some of its rheological and hardened properties. The experimental study included physical and rheological properties. The asphalt penetration, softening point, ductility, and rotational viscometer tests indicate that 5% nano-TiO2 is the ideal amount to be added to bitumen as a modifier. The </p> ... Effect of Nano Silicon Dioxide Addition on Some Properties of Heat Vulcanized Maxillofacial Silicone Elastomer
...Show More Authors

Abstract : Silicone elastomer is widely used as the material of choice for fabricating maxillofacial prosthesis. However, silicone properties are far from ideal; low tear strength, low tensile strength and insufficient elasticity are the most undesirable properties. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of addition of nano SiO2filler on tear strength, tensile strength, elongation at break, hardness and color of Cosmesil M-511 HTV maxillofacial silicone elastomer. Nano SiO2was added to the silicone base in concentrations of 4%, 5% and 6% by weight. Silicone with 0% nano filler served as a control. Tear test was done according to ISO 34-1. Tensile and elongation test was done according to ISO 37. Shore A hardness test was done

Antimicrobial Efficiency of Hypochlorous Acid and Its Effect on Some Properties of Alginate Impression Material
...Show More Authors

Dental clinicians and professionals need an affordable, nontoxic, and effective disinfectant against infectious microorganisms when dealing with the contaminated dental impressions. This study evaluated the efficiency of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) as an antimicrobial disinfectant by spraying technique for the alginate impression materials, compared with sodium hypochlorite, and its effect on dimensional stability and reproduction of details. HOCl with a concentration of 200 ppm for 5 and 10 min was compared with the control group (no treatment) as a negative control and with sodium hypochlorite (% 0.5) as a positive control. Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were selected to assess the antimicrobi

This study was conducted in the autumn season of 2024-2025 in the fields of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences – University of Baghdad, to investigate the effect of organic fertilizers prepared using sesame and soybean husks, and foliar application with milk thistle extract (Silybum marianum), on the qualitative properties of Italian kale plants. The experiment was conducted as factorial experiment (6×3) in a randomized complete block design (R.C.B.D.) with split-plot arrangement and three replicates. Factors were included: the first factor (six fertilization treatments : chemical fertilization at recommended rates , two levels each of organic sesame husks (2 and 4 kg m⁻²) and soybean husks (2 and 4 kg m⁻²

Effect of Replacing Partial of Wheat Flour by Lentil Powder on Quality Properties of Laboratory Bread
...Show More Authors

This investigation was carried out to examine the effect of replacing partial of flour by dried Lentils (Lens culinaris) to white flour in different percentages on the chemical, sensory and storage properties of the Laboratory bread. The results revealed that replacing 0% than wheat flour by lentil powder (1) control was high significan than the replacing 25 and 35% than wheat flour by lentil powder ( 4 and 5) in flavor and chewiness . The results of sensory evaluation showed that replacing 4 were high significan different than that of replacing 1 in external layer colour. Other replacing percentages, however, did not show significant differences of in comparison with control . In regards with chemical analysis of Iron and copper, i

The effect of contact time between alginate impression material and type III dental stone on the surface properties of stone casts
...Show More Authors

Background: Alginate impression material is the irreversible hydrocolloid material that is widely used in dentistry. The contact time between alginate and gypsum cast could have a detrimental effect on the properties of the gypsum cast. The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of various contact time intervals of Alginate impressions & type III dental stone on surface properties of stone cast. Materials and Methods: Time intervals tested were 1hour, 6 hours and 9 hours. Surface properties of stone cast evaluated were surface detail reproduction, hardness and roughness. Surface detail reproduction was determined using cylindrical brass test block in accordance with ISO 1563. Surface roughness was measured by profilometer

A Comparison Study the Effect of Doping by Ga2O3 and CeO2 On the Structural and Optical Properties of SnO2 Thin Films
...Show More Authors

This research deals with the effect of gallium oxide and cerium oxide as dopants on the structural and optical characteristics of tin oxide. Gallium and cerium oxide doped tin oxide was prepared with different doping concentrations (0, 0.03, 0.05 and 0.07) wt. pure and doped tin oxide thin films were prepared by the pulsed laser deposition technique. X-ray diffraction and UV-Visible spectrophotometer were employed to investigate both oxides doping effects. Results showed that all prepared samples have poly-crystalline structure with a preferred plane of crystal growth along (110), where the crystal size grew from 40.3 nm to 64.5 nm and to 43.5 nm for Ga2O3 and CeO2 doped tin oxide thin films, respectively. Transmittance dec
