Functionalized nanotubes

Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) are considered as relativity green solvents in comparison with ionic liquids and organic solvents. DESs are used in nanotechnology applications due to their unique physiochemical properties, efficient dispersants and they can be easily prepared in high purity at low cost. Other advantages include their nontoxicity, no reactivity with water and being biodegradable. DESs have recently attracted much attention in various fields, especially in the field of nanotechnology in controlling the size, surface chemistry and morphology of the nanomaterials and in the processing of advanced functional nanomaterials. As a result, various studies have been undertaken to investigate the physicochemical characteristics of the combination of DESs and nanomaterials. Recently, DESs are widely used as functionalization agents for different nanomaterials. Hence, this chapter will be summarizing the recent developments of DESs to improve the surface chemistry of nanomaterials and their possible applications.

PREPARATION OF ACTIVATED CARBONS FROM DATE STONES BY CHEMICAL ACTIVATION METHOD USING FeCl3 and ZnCl2 as ACTIVATING AGENTS

Date stones were used as precursor for the preparation of activated carbons by chemical
activation with ferric chloride and zinc chloride. The effects of operating conditions represented
by the activation time, activation temperature, and impregnation ratio on the yield and adsorption
capacity towards methylene blue (MB) of prepared activated carbon by ferric chloride activation

Optimum Condition of Pullulanase Production by Liquid State and Solid State Fermentation (SSF) Method from Bacillus Licheniforms (BS18)

Geotechnical engineering like any other engineering field has to develop and cope with new technologies. This article intends to investigate the spatial relationships between soil’s liquid limit (LL), plasticity index (PI) and Liquidity index (LI) for particular zones of Sulaymaniyah City. The main objective is to study the ability to produce digital soil maps for the study area and determine regions of high expansive soil. <p>Analyzing X-rays and computed tomography-scan (CT scan) images using a convolutional neural network (CNN) method is a very interesting subject, especially after coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
