Background: Quickly dissolved oral films are a widely accepted method of delivering drugs and help patients adhere to treatment regimens. Nanosuspensions (NS) are colloidal dispersions of drug particles with a submicron size, and their large surface area enhances the solubility and dissolution of low-water-soluble drugs. Febuxostat (FXT) is a non-purine xanthine oxidase inhibitor with a low dissolution rate that limits its absorption. Objective: To develop fast-dissolving oral films (FDOFs) containing FXT NS and convert NS into solid dosage forms to ease administration and accelerate drug release. Methods: FXT NS was prepared using Soluplus as a stabilizer and Tween80 as a co-stabilizer through an anti-solvent precipitation technique. We prepared FDOFs using a solvent casting method, utilizing hydrophilic polymers like pullulan, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), gelatin, and plasticizers like polyethylene glycol (PEG400) and glycerin. The study assessed the film's thickness, weight, folding endurance, drug content, disintegration time, and drug release. We validated the drug's compatibility using FTIR, and conducted a crystallinity study using DSC and X-ray powder diffraction. Results: F4 was the optimized formula prepared using PVA and PEG400. In just three minutes, the F4 dissolution rate increased significantly (99.63% vs. 11.23%) compared to the FXT ordinary film. Also, it had good mechanical properties. Conclusions: FXT NS were successfully loaded into FDOFs with accepted properties.
Background: Oral squamous cell carcinoma is the most prevalent malignant neoplasm of the oral cavity which results from accumulated genetic and epigenetic alterations. It is not always inexorable and may be reversible if early intervention in the process can occur to prevent further genetic mutation and disease progression. The FHIT gene is a tumor suppressor gene located in FRA3B region which is the most active common fragile site, where DNA damage leading to aberrant transcripts and translocations frequently occur. The WWOX is a tumor suppressor gene that plays a central role in tumor suppression through transcriptional repression and apoptosis, with its apoptotic function the more prominent of the two. This study aimed to evaluate and co

The p16 gene produces p16 protein, which in turn inhibits phosphorylation of retinoblastoma (Rb), p16 play a significant role in early carcinogenesis. A number of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family, HER2/neu, has received much attention because of its therapeutic implications. The aims of the study were to evaluate and compare the immunohistochemical expression of the cell cycle protein P16 INK4a and c-erbB2 (HER2/neu) in NOM, OED, and OSCC. Correlate both marker expression with each other as well as with various clinicopathological

At nowadays, Lactobacillus spp. constitute more than two-thirds of the total numbers of probiotic species. The present study aimed to characterize Lactobacillus that locally isolated from human mouth and feces as probiotics. A total of three Lactobacillus isolates; Lactobacillus fermentum Lb2, Lactobacillus rhamnosus Lb9, and Lactobacillus paracasei Lb10 were investigated in respect to acid and bile salts tolerance, antibiotics susceptibility, and cell surface hydrophobicity in vitro using bacterial adhesion to hydrocarbons method. The target of the analysis is to maximize both the fluidity and disintegration profile of class II weakly compounds that are water-soluble. Anti-dyslipidemia drug rosuvastatin calcium (RC) (bioavailability 20%) through formulating as nanofibers (NFs) using electrospinning (ES) technology. Twenty formulas were prepared, and different polymers and polymer combinations with various concentrations were used such as polyethylene oxide (PEO) polyvinyl pyrrolidine (PVPK-30), and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC). Three distinct groups of maximum parameters, including polymeric solution, electrospinning method, and ambient parameter, are capable of influencing the creation alon

KSL was loaded in poly(acryloyl hydroxyethyl) starch (acHES) micropar-ticles, and then the peptide-containing microparticles were encapsulated in the PLGA matrix by a solvent extraction /evaporation method.
KSL-loaded PLGA microspheres were also prepared without the starch hydrogel microparticle microspheres for comparison study. KSL peptide microspheres were characterized for drug content, surface morphology, microspheres size determination, polymers stability , in vitro microspheres degradation and in vitro release. There are several diverse methods, including chemical, physical, and green biological methods, to prepare iron oxide nanoparticles. The green method was chosen because it is safer, purer, and less toxic compared to other methods. Therefore, the green method is a promising and environmentally friendly method in the near future. The aqueous extract of Iraqi orange leaves was used to prepare nano iron oxide, it was examined structurally and spectrally by several techniques (X-ray diffraction- XRD, Fourier transform infrared - FT-IR, field emission scanning electron micr

Show More<span>Deepfakes have become possible using artificial intelligence techniques, replacing one person’s face with another person’s face (primarily a public figure), making the latter do or say things he would not have done. Therefore, contributing to a solution for video credibility has become a critical goal that we will address in this paper. Our work exploits the visible artifacts (blur inconsistencies) which are generated by the manipulation process. We analyze focus quality and its ability to detect these artifacts. Focus measure operators in this paper include image Laplacian and image gradient groups, which are very fast to compute and do not need a large dataset for training. The results showed that i) the Laplacian
