Green Tea–Driven Green Synthesis of a Curcumin@Platinum Nanohybrid with Multifunctional Antioxidant, Burn-Healing Agent, and Selective Anticancer against PANC-1 Pancreatic Cancer Cells
...Show More Authors

This study aimed to fabricate a curcumin@platinum nanohybrid (CUR@Pt NPs) through a green tea–based synthesis method and to evaluate its various functions, including antioxidant, burn-healing, and selective anticancer activities against PANC-1 pancreatic cancer cells. Green tea polyphenols served as natural reducing and stabilizing agents, facilitating an eco-friendly, single-step manufacturing process. Physicochemical characterization confirmed successful nanohybrid formation: a CUR@Pt band appeared at 457 nm in the UV–Vis spectrum, XRD displayed crystalline platinum peaks at 2θ = 46.9°, and 67.0°, matching the (200), and (220) planes, respectively, and TEM images showed well-dispersed spherical nanoparticles with an average size of 50 nm. FTIR spectra showed shifts in O–H and C = O vibrational bands, indicating coordination between curcumin, tea polyphenols, and platinum. DLS analysis indicated a hydrodynamic diameter of 162.2 ± 12.8 nm, with a zeta potential of − 5.6 mV. Antioxidant assessment using the DPPH assay revealed that CUR@Pt NPs had enhanced radical-scavenging activity with an IC₅₀ of 17.58 ppm, compared to 22.45 ppm for free curcumin. In vivo burn-healing tests in mice demonstrated faster wound contraction, with the CUR@Pt group achieving significantly improved closure by day 14, along with increased re-epithelialization and dense collagen deposition similar to silver sulfadiazine (1%). Cytotoxicity assays showed selective anticancer effects against PANC-1 cells (IC₅₀ = 89.4 µg/mL), while normal NIH cells displayed higher tolerance (IC₅₀ = 119.8 µg/mL), indicating a favorable therapeutic index. In conclusion, CUR@Pt NPs are a promising, environmentally friendly nanoplatform that combines the complementary pharmacological effects of curcumin and platinum.

Comprehensive Screening of Stabilizers and Solvents for Curcumin Nanosuspension
...Show More Authors

Poorly soluble drugs are often a challenge in product formulation. Generally, low aqueous solubility and poor bioavailability of drugs have restricted their application in various fields. Nanosuspensions enhance the solubility and bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs. Curcumin, a hydrophobic polyphenol, exhibits poor aqueous solubility (<1 μg/mL), and formulating it as nanosuspension can enhance its solubility. However, the optimal selection of preparation technique, solvent, stabilizer, and drug-to-stabilizer ratio is critical for formulation success for a successful formulation. This work aims to optimize the preparation process of Curcumin nanosuspension. In addition, it aims in screening of the effectiveness of different stabi

Using activated and modified adsorbent surfaces from banana peels to remove the green Janus dye:
...Show More Authors

In order for the process of removing pollutants, including dyes, from the aquatic environment to be effective, plant wastes such as banana peels were used as adsorbent surfaces by thermally activating them (ABP) and modifying them with iron oxide nanoparticles (MABP), which were characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. They were applied in the field of Janus green (JG) dye adsorption for the batch system and studied the effect of several factors (adsorbent weight, contact time, initial concentration, and temperature). Their data were analyzed kinetically using first- and second-order kinetic models and they were found to follow the second order. Their data were also analyzed thro

Evaluation of the effects of Curcumin gel against Periodontopathic Bacteria (Porphyromonas gingivalis) using real-time time-polymerase chain reaction technology
...Show More Authors

Periodontal disease is typically treated with mechanical debridement of the tooth surface. It may, however, be insufficient to eradicate pathogenic microorganisms on its own. Because of the microbial etiology of periodontitis, systemic or local antibiotic therapy is used as an adjunct treatment. The present study aimed to determine the effects of curcumin gel on Porphyromonas gingivalis. Eleven patients with stage II and III periodontitis were registered in the study. A double-blinded split-mouth design followed. Periodontal pockets were distributed into 2 groups; the test group received scaling and root planing along with curcumin gel, while the control group received scaling and root planing along with a placebo gel. Plaque index,

Synthesis, Characterization, and Study of Anticancer Activities of New Schiff Bases and 1,3-Oxazepine Containing Drug
...Show More Authors

Objective: This study involved the synthesis of new Schiff bases and 1,3-oxazepine derivatives from the baclofen drug and study the anticancer activities. Methods: Baclofen was initially reacted with aromatic aldehydes to create Schiff base derivatives (Ia–Ib), which were then closed in the next step using anhydrous acids to form oxazepine derivatives (IIa–IId). Results: The title compounds were synthesized successfully and identified using FT-IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Additionally, compound (IIc)’s (3-(4-chloro-phenyl)-4-[2-(4nitro-phenyl)-4,7-dioxo-4,7-dihydro-[1,3] oxazepin-3-yl]butyric acid) anticancer activity was assessed using MTT assay against FTC-133 (thyroid cancer) compared with WRL-68 (normal cell line). The In Situ Expression of IL-6 and IL-1? in breast cancer patients
...Show More Authors

Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women world. Multiple Cytokines appear to have a dominant role in human breast cancer formation. Estimation of the in situ expression of  IL-6 and IL-1β in breast cancer patients. A sixty patients with breast cancer BC were divided into two clinical subgroups, (30) with malignant breast cancer MBC and (30) with benign breast tumor as a control group according to histological examination. In situ hybridization technique used for detection of IL-6 and IL-1β mRNA sequence in two groups.  The results showed that percentages of mRNA expression of IL-6 and IL-1β were in (≥ 11-50%) for malignant breast cancer. This research also investigated that (73.3%) of beni

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF NEW AZO DYE COMPLEXES AND STUDIES OF ANTIOXIDANT, BIOACTIVITY AND THERMAL ANALYSIS
...Show More Authors

A new azo dye, 5,5-[1,2-phenylenebis(2,1-biazenediyl)]bis[8-quinolino], was synthesized by reacting the diazonium salt of o-phenylenediamine with 8-hydroxyquinoline. The ligand was subsequently used to prepare a series of metal complexes with V(IV), Fe(III), Cr(III), Mn(II), Mo(VI), and Ru(III). The ligand was characterized using 1H and 3C-NMR spectroscopy, while the metal complexes were analyzed using UV-Vis, FT-IR, and mass spectrometry, along with thermal analysis (TGA, DSC), (C.H.N.), conductivity measurements, magnetic susceptibility, and metal and chlorine content analysis, the results indicated that the ligand exhibits tetracoordination. The complexes predominantly formed octahedral geometries, except for the vanadium complex, which
