Air pollution from fertilizer nitrogen
...Show More Authors

An essential component of food production is nitrogen (N). Crops waste about half of the nitrogen fertilizer input, which is then released into the atmosphere as gas emissions or polluting of aquatic groups. It is necessary to reach manufacture stages that promote world food security in the absence of compromising quality. safety of the environment. It is estimated that by 2050, N pollution levels will have risen 150% from 2010 levels, with the The agricultural sector is responsible for 60% of this growth. In this review fertilizer Nitrogen should take into account while discussing air pollution caused by gases that contain nitrogen, which might result in issues like the greenhouse effect. Nopoint pollution, the involvement of farmer management techniques, the relationship between N fertilizer use, N use efficiency, and regulatory methods to mitigate diffuse pollution brought on by N fertilization. Numerous studies indicate that one of the primary obstacles to achieving habit changes. This study aims to draw attention to the seriousness Considering the necessity for a communication campaign to educate farmers about the current worldwide non-point pollution problem about the implications of their fertilizer management practices and the link between their operations and N pollution

Synthesis, characterization and bioactivity Study from azo – ligand derived frommethyl-2-amino benzoatewith some metal ions
...Show More Authors

A Ligand (ECA) methyl 2-((1-cyano-2-ethoxy-2-oxoethyl)diazenyl)benzoate with metals of (Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+) were prepared and characterization using H-NMR, atomic absorption spectroscopy, ultra violet (UV) visible, magnetic moments measurements, bioactivity, and Molar conductivity measurements in soluble ethanol. Complexes have been prepared using a general formula which was suggested as [M (ECA)2] Cl2, where M = (Cobalt(II), Nickel(II) and Copper(II), the geometry shape of the complexes is octahedral.

Recovery of methyl orange from aqueous solutions by bulk liquid membrane process facilitated with anionic carrier
...Show More Authors

Dyes are extensively water-soluble and toxic chemicals. The disposing of wastewater rich with such chemicals has severely impacted surface water quality (rivers and lakes). In the current study, an anionic dye, methyl orange, were extracted from wastewater fluids using bulk liquid membranes supplemented with an anionic carrier (Aliquat 336 (QCI)). Parameters including solvent type (carbon tetrachloride and chloroform), membrane stirring speed (100-250 rpm), mixing speed of both phases (50-100 rpm), The feed pH (2-12) and implemented temperature (35-60 °C) were thoroughly analyzed to determine the effect of such variables on extraction effectiveness. Furthermore, the effect of methyl orange (10-50 ppm) in the feed stage and NaOH (0

Exploring the Capability of the Hospital Pharmacists in Conducting Pharmacy Practice Research: A Study from Malaysia
...Show More Authors

The engagement of pharmacists in research activities is pivotal in the advancement of the pharmacy practice. The study aims to evaluate the confidence and competence of Malaysian hospital pharmacists in conducting clinical and practice-based research.

A cross-sectional study was carried out between September 2019 and April 2020 using an online survey. Pharmacists from eight different hospitals in Malaysia were involved in the study. The survey link was sent to all pharmacists of the included hospitals via email. Data were analysed using SPSS version 25.

A total of 226 pharmacists participated in this study, and their average age was 28 years old. About 82 % of the participants reported that they did not have any previous re

Antibacterial Activity of Silver Nanoparticles Prepared from Camellia Sinensis Extracts in Multi-Drug Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus
...Show More Authors

Background/Aims: The nano-method has been used as a technique for creating novel, non-traditional antimicrobial agents. This effective method for treating infectious diseases has many advantages over conventional antibiotics, including increased efficacy against species that have developed drug resistance, and the ability to circumvent the development of resistance that disrupts a number of biological pathways. As a result, the objective of this study was to synthesize and characterize silver nanoparticles using phenolic compounds obtained from Camellia sinensis. The nanoparticles were then used as antibacterial agents on the multidrug resistant Staphylococcus aureus, as well as, biofilm formation mechanism were also investigated. M

Determine the Whole Genome Sequences of SARS-COV-2 Isolated from Iraqi Patients Using NGS Method
...Show More Authors

Background: Next-generation sequencing (NGS) can monitor the transmission of COVID-19 and viral alterations. Objectives: To provide information about testing techniques and infection control measures, as well as to direct the development of vaccines and treatments for the Corona virus. Methods: Six Iraqi SARS-CoV-2 strains were investigated using whole-genome sequencing using the next-generation sequencing method. The sequencing was carried out with an Illumina MiSeq system, and phylogenetic analysis was carried out for all Iraqi sequences retrieved from GISAID. Results: The analysis of the isolates from this study showed that all the sequences from the most recent wave, which happened in the summer of 2022, were primarily clustered

Studying the Effectiveness of Bromelain Enzyme Extracted from Pineapple Against Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Cancer Cells
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>The experiment was carried out in the laboratories of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, Bromelain enzyme was extracted from pineapple fruit crown and pineapple peel. An extraction solution was used with different mixing ratios from 1:1 to 5:1. The mixing ratio of 2:1 was the best extraction ratio, as it reached the highest enzymatic activity among the other mixing ratios, which was 33 units. The enzymatic activity of the crown extract was higher than the enzymatic activity of the peel extract, reaching 9.8 units/ml and 1.1 units/ml, respectively, the enzyme was precipitated using ammonium sulfate at a concentration of 30 % - 90 %. Some types of the fungus Aspergillus were isolated from some hospitals in the city of Baghdad (Imam Ali Hospital and Sadr General Hospital). The samples were taken by Transport media at a rate of three replicates of each place isolated from samples from different places within the hospital (waste, baths, the sick beds, corridors and room floors) for the purpose of isolating and diagnosing the fungus on the Czapeck Dox Agar media. It was noticed that the spread rate of fungus Aspergillus was 70% compared to other species that have emerged during the isolation process of the Sabouraud's Dextrose Agar media. The species A.niger (56.25%) was considered the most common type of fungus visible during the isolation process of the Imam Ali Hospit
