Role of Gamma Camera Components in Radiological Diagnosis

The gamma camera, along with SPECT and PET scanners, is one of the main imaging technologies in nuclear medicine. A collimator is typically constructed from tungsten to provide high absorption of gamma photon energies. It has a hole or holes for imaging. Gamma rays from a radioactive source within the body are emitted in all directions, while the photons required constructing an image travel through the hole. A scintillator is the most common material used to convert the high energy of gamma radiation into a lowenergy optical photon. These detectors are one of the primary secrets to radio-diagnosis in nuclear medicine. The photomultiplier tube (PMT) is a versatile device with extraordinarily highly sensitivity and response. A typical photomultiplier tube contains a photo emissive cathode (photocathode), focusing electrodes, an electron multiplier, and an electron collector (anode). Conclusion: In the medical imaging area, everyone works to improve the resolution, sensitivity, and size of their devices so that patients can be treated better and diagnoses can be made more accurately. Also, the results of this study suggest that HGC could be a potential way to give better support during surgery.

Spectroscopic Diagnosis of Arc Carbon and Magnesium Plasma

      This research aims to investigate parameters for magnesium (Mg)  carbon (C), and carbon/magnesium plasma produced by the exploding electrical wire (EEW) technique. In this work, C and Mg nanoparticles were synthesized. The plasma spectra with three different current values (50, 75 and 100A) were recorded using optical emission spectroscopy (OES). Sellar hematoma as a new potential radiological clue for superior hypophyseal artery aneurysm rupture

In cases of spontaneous subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) with multiple intracranial aneurysms (MIAs) detected on angiography, some radiological clues assist in determining the site of a ruptured aneurysm which is bleeding is quite beneficial for the selection of the best treatment strategy. In vitro Radio Protective Effects of Metformin on Human Lymphocytes Irradiated with Gamma Rays

     Radio protective effects of metformin and its ability to alter the spontaneous and induced genotoxic and cytotoxic levels effects on human peripheral blood lymphocytes were investigated in this study. Calculation of Radiation Nuclei Concentrations in Fertilized and Unfertilized Plants Samples Using Gamma Spectroscopy

The aim of this work was to estimate the concentrations of natural and artificial nuclides in some fertilized and unfertilized plant samples. These samples were collected and prepared in a petri dish for the measurements using gamma spectroscopy. The average values of 238U, 232Th, 40K, and 137Cs for the unfertilized plant samples were (11.964 ± 3.226, 8.273 ± 2.639, 402.436 ± 18.099, and 2.761 ± 1.613) respectively, and for the fertilized plant samples were (30.434 ± 5.282, 22.584 ± 4.620, 711.332 ± 25.806, and 6.986 ± 2.542) respectively. Estimation of Immune Response in Rabbits Infected with Attenuated Entamoeba histolytica by Gamma Radation

Out of 1279 stool sample only 245 were found to be infected with E.histolytica with total percentage 19% . Diagnostic study for E.histolytica by using techlab Eliza test showed that the non-pathogen E.dispar was significantly higher (78.9%) than E.histolytica (22%).We test the effect of the attenuated E. histolytica by gamma Radiation on the mortality rate in laboratory animals infected with E. histolytica by using increasing doses of radation (5,10,15,20and 25) Rad., the results showed that the percentage of mortality decrease when increase the dose of attenuated E.histolytica cyst in comparison with positive control group (non – attenuated group) it reached (100% ,66.7%, 33.3% 0% and 0%)respectively.
