This research is an attempt to study aspects of syntactic deviation in AbdulWahhab Al-Bayyati with reference to English. It reviews this phenomenon from an extra-linguistic viewpoint. It adopts a functional approach depending on the stipulates of systemic Functional Grammar as developed by M.A.K. Halliday and others adopting this approach. Within related perspective, fairly’s taxonomy (1975) has been chosen to analyze the types of syntactic deviation because it has been found suitable and relevant to describe this phenomenon. The research hypothesizes that syntactic deviation is pervasive in Arabic poetry, in general and in Abdul-Wahhab Al-Bayyati Poetry in specific, and can be analyzed in the light of systemic Functional Grammar. It also hypothesize that syntactic deviation intensifies cohesion in poetic texts and does not disrupt or dismantle links between the structures of the clause. The phenomenon of celebration of army leaders in the Abbasid era formed a distinct phenomenon at which the poets stood, and among those leaders was the Arab leader Hamid al-Taie, and the poets who stood on him and his sons Abu Tammam and al-Bohtari recorded in their poems the exploits of that leader, and the exploits of his sons through images that represented sadness, courage In this research, the generosity, and the rhetorical and artistic aspects of those images, have been spotted, balancing the poets.

There is a theoretical controversy in the books of Usul al-Fiqh, in the past and the present, about whether the ruling should be attached to its reason (al-Hikmah), or its apparent and stable cause (al-Illah). Looking at the practical cases of the jurists, we found them sometimes attaching rulings to its reason, and sometimes to its cause, so there is a need to know the factors that affect their choices. By extrapolation, the researcher reached at nine factors that affect referring the ruling to its cause or to its reason in jurisprudential cases.
