Background: The immediate effect of breast cancer and its treatment on the patient's psychological status and later adaptation of the patient with diagnosis and treatment of the disease may be led to disturbances in the quality of life of the patients. Objective: To measure Quality of life (QOL) in females with breast cancer, to find the factors that can improve their QOL and to identify the sociodemographic and clinical factors that have an influence on the QOL. Methods: The study sample was a convenient non-random sample of 103 patients diagnosed to have breast cancer at least one month after diagnosis. The data were collected by face-to-face interviews which took about 15-20 minutes with each patient, to fill out a standard questionnaire prepared for this purpose. Results: The individual patient QOL score has been 0-400, divided (0-80) was very poor, (81-160) was poor, (16l-240) acceptable, (241-320) good, and (321-400) very good. The percentage of clinical presentations were breast lump, mastalgia, lymph node enlargement, non-specific complain, nipple retraction & discharge were (77%, 42%, 32%, 29%, 22%, I5%) respectively. Statistical analysis shows that there is a direct relationship between marital state &social domain where married appear to have good QOL regarding social domain also homeowner had association with social domain where p value: 0.014 which is significant. Conclusion. The environmental domain of QOL was found to have a significant association with age, menarche, crowding index, living in urban, home ownership & car ownership.

STUDY ON ABILITY OF PROTEUS MIRABILIS ISOLATED FROM BURNS AND WOUNDS INFECTIONS TO BIOFILM FORMATION AND DETECTION URE C GENE RESPONSIBLE FOR PRODUCE UREASE ENZYME
...Show More Authors

A total of 200 clinical samples included Burns and Wounds infections were collected from Baghdad Governorate. Results showed that rate all isolates of P. mirabilis was 31(15.5%) and rate of Burns infections was 14 (45%) and rate of wounds infection 17 (55%). Where was diagnostic based on conventional biochemical tests and confirmed by the Vitek-2 Compact system and the specific primer of the16SrRNA gene, the ability of bacterial isolates to biofilm formation to be studied. It's considered an important virulence factor in Incidence of diseases and play important role in increasing resistance to antibiotic of encased bacteria, by two methods Congo Red Agar method and Microtiter Plate method. The Congo Red Agar method showed that most isolates

Background: Obesity typically results from a variety of causes and factors which contribute, genetics included, and style of living choices, and described as excessive body fat accumulation of body fat lead to excessive body, is a chronic disorder that combines pathogenic environmental and genetic factors. So, the current study objective was to investigate the of the FTO gene rs9939609 polymorphism and the obesity risk. Explaining the relationship between fat mass and obesity-associated gene (FTO) rs9939609 polymorphism and obesity in adults. Methods: Identify research exploring the association between the obesity risk and the variation polymorphisms of FTO gene rs9939609. Synthesis, Spectral Characterization and Biological Activity of Schiff Base ligand Derived from 5-amino-2-phenyl-2,4-dihydro3H-Pyrazol-3-one and its Metal Complexes
...Show More Authors

Eight new complexes with the general formula [M(L)2(H2O)2] were prepared resulting from the reaction of the new Schiff base ligand [(E)-5- ((2-hydroxybenzylidene)amino)-2-phenyl-2,4-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3- one(L)] with metal ions [manganese, cadmium, zinc, copper, nickel, cobalt, Mercury Bivalent and tetravalent platinum. This ligand was derived from the reaction of the amine (5-amino-2-phenyl-2,4-dihydro3H-pyrazol-3-one) with Salicylaldehyde, which is linked to the metal ions via two atoms. The nitrogen is the isomethene group, and the oxygen is the hydroxide group of the pyrazoline ring. The prepared compounds were characterized using infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and ultraviolet spectroscopy, and from the
