Studying the spatially distribution pattern of fuel station in province of Baghdad
was done by utilizing GIS techniques which they are the most powerful tools for
design, display and analysis for the spatial data. Nearest Neighbor Analysis method
was applied for analyzing the spatial distributions of the fuel stations. Baghdad was
considered to be divided in to two main parts (outskirts of Baghdad and center of
Baghdad). The nearest neighbour for all parts of Baghdad indicates for the
distribution pattern is random and differs from place to another in randomly rate.

Sediment samples were collected from main water processing and supply plants in Baghdad, and tested for radioactivity from both natural and artificial sources. These stations are: East Dijla (Tigris), Al-Kadisia, Al-Karama, Al-Rasheed, Al-Sader, Al-Wathba, and Al-Wihda supply stations. Qualitative measurements were made, and the results showed that most sediments exhibited natural radioactive level and sometimes less than the international regular standards. Specially, K-40 and Ra-226 results were much less than the standards for radioactive concentrations. Sewage sludge samples were collected from Al-rasafa and Al-karkh refinement stations which represent the main stations of Baghdad city. Samples were collected from all treatment stages: before, after, and during refinement processes. In this study, the global solar radiation for the locations of fourteen Iraqi metrological stations was studied and calculated. This was performed because most of the Iraqi stations lack solar radiation measuring devices. The equation postulated by Angström (1924) and modified by Prescott (1940) was utilized for the estimation of the solar radiation for the fourteen Iraqi metrological stations depending on sunshine duration measurements of these stations.
