Using cleaner production costs to achieve sustainable competitive advantage

Abstract

                Target costing and cleaner production are among the most important techniques in the field of cost and management accounting, which, when integrated, enable economic units to achieve the goal of cost management by reducing it by calculating cost more accurately than traditional methods.To achieve this, the researcher relied on the inductive approach in writing the theoretical framework for the research, relying on foreign and Arabic books, dissertations and university theses, foreign and Arabic research and periodicals related to the subject of the research, and relying on the descriptive and analytical approach in the aspect of applied research based on a set of means such as financial data, personal interviews and field visits. Fayd Al-Qassim Metal Industries Company, and the cooling product was chosen, which is one of the products of Fayd Al-Qassim Metal Industries Company, with the aim of improving its quality and enhancing its competitive position compared to similar products in the local markets and converting it from a traditional product to an environmentally friendly product in addition to the low cost. The researcher reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which is that the application of cleaner production and measuring its costs contribute to improving the quality of the product by reducing the pollutants caused by the product and replacing materials harmful to the environment and human health with other materials that are less harmful and polluting the environment and reducing the rates of damage as a result of excluding activities that do not add value to the product or the customer. It led to reducing the cost of the product, meeting environmental requirements, increasing productivity, improving the reputation and image of the economic unit, and achieving a sustainable competitive advantage.

Mutual Derivatization in the Determination of Dapsone and Thymol Using Cloud Point Extraction Followed by Spectrophotometric Detection

A procedure for the mutual derivatization and determination of thymol and Dapsone was developed and validated in this study. Dapsone was used as the derivatizing agent for the determination of thymol, and thymol was used as the derivatizing agent for the determination of Dapsone. An optimization study was performed for the derivatization reaction; i.e., the diazonium coupling reaction. Linear regression calibration plots for thymol and Dapsone in the direct reaction were constructed at 460 nm, within the concentration range of 0.3-7 μg ml-1 for thymol and 0.3-4 μg ml-1 for Dapsone, with limits of detection 0.086 and 0.053 μg ml-1, respectively. Solving Whitham-Broer-Kaup-Like Equations Numerically by using Hybrid Differential Transform Method and Finite Differences Method

This paper aims to propose a hybrid approach of two powerful methods, namely the differential transform and finite difference methods, to obtain the solution of the coupled Whitham-Broer-Kaup-Like equations which arises in shallow-water wave theory. The capability of the method to such problems is verified by taking different parameters and initial conditions. The numerical simulations are depicted in 2D and 3D graphs. It is shown that the used approach returns accurate solutions for this type of problems in comparison with the analytic ones.

Study of the x-ray diffraction lines of calcium titanate nanoparticle using SSP method and Scherrer method

In this study, the modified size-strain plot (SSP) method was used to analyze the x-ray diffraction lines pattern of diffraction lines (1 0 1), (1 2 1), (2 0 2), (0 4 2), (2 4 2) for the calcium titanate(CaTiO3) nanoparticles, and to calculate lattice strain, crystallite size, stress, and energy density, using three models: uniform (USDM). With a lattice strain of (2.147201889), a stress of (0.267452615X10), and an energy density of (2.900651X10-3 KJ/m3), the crystallite was 32.29477611 nm in size, and to calculate lattice strain of Scherrer (4.1644598X10−3), and (1.509066023X10−6 KJ/m3), a stress of(6.403949183X10−4MPa) and (26.019894 nm).

DETERMINATION OF URANIUM CONCENTRATIONS IN RICE SAMPLES AVAILABLE IN THE IRAQI MARKET USING THE CR-39 DETECTOR

In this study, the results of the uranium concentrations and specific activity in 10 rice samples are described using a solid-state track detector (CR-39). Samples were collected from various local Iraqi markets with different origins (Iraq, India, America, and Thailand). Our findings found that the results of uranium concentration in all studied samples are ranging from (0.55 ± 0.28 to 1.74 ± 0.31) ppm with a weighted average of (1.24 ± 0.99) ppm.
