Rehabilitation of Reinforced Concrete Deep Beam by Epoxy Resin
...Show More Authors

This investigation presents an experimental and analytical study on the behavior of reinforced concrete deep beams before and after repair. The original beams were first loaded under two points load up to failure, then, repaired by epoxy resin and tested again. Three of the test beams contains shear reinforcement and the other two beams have no shear reinforcement. The main variable in these beams was the percentage of longitudinal steel reinforcement (0, 0.707, 1.061, and 1.414%). The main objective of this research is to investigate the possibility of restoring the full load carrying capacity of the reinforced concrete deep beam with and without shear reinforcement by using epoxy resin as the material of repair. All beams were tested with shear span-depth ratio 2.2. An analytical study was made to show the behavior of a sample of test beam at higher stages of loadings before and after repair. The test results showed that the epoxy resin used for repairing was very efficient in restoring full capacity of failed beams. Moreover, epoxy resin increased the strength capacity of the original beams by about 14% to 40%. On the other hand, the increase in the longitudinal reinforcement increased significantly the ultimate capacity of deep beams before and after repair.

Prospective Descriptive Study of Radiological and Functional Outcomes of Volar Barton’s Fracture Fixed by Volar Locked Plate
...Show More Authors

BACKGROUND: Volar Barton’s fracture is a shearing mechanism of injury that results in fracture and subluxation of distal end radius in which volar rim of the distal radius is displaced with hand and carpus. Open reduction and volar plate fixation ensure more stable change of displacement, preservation of reduction, and early mobilization. AIM: This study aims to assess the functional and radiological outcome results of volar Barton’s fracture treated by volar buttress plate using the demerit points system of Gartland and Werley. PATIENTS AND METHODS: This study is a prospective descriptive observational study on 32 patients who were treated with ORIF by volar buttress plate for isolated volar Barton’s fractures between Fe

Characterization, Biofilm and Plasmid Curing Effect of Silver Nanoparticles Synthesis by Aqueous Extract of Myristica fragrans Seeds
...Show More Authors

Nowadays nanoparticles are used in many fields of life all over the world, and there are numerous ways to obtain them: chemical, physical and biological processes. In recent times, the biological method for the synthesis of nanoparticles associated with using plant extract is widely spread. Optimal conditions for synthesis of silver nanoparticles using aqueous seeds extract of Myristica fragrance were highlighted in this research, such as type of plant extract, weight of extracted plant material, volume ratio of plant extract to AgNO3 and temperature of reaction. The study proved that the optimal status for AgNPs synthesis by using 10 g of M. fragrance seeds powder were added to 100 mL boiled distilled water, then homogenized and filt

A Comparison of the Methods for Estimation of Reliability Function for Burr-XII Distribution by Using Simulation.
...Show More Authors

This deals with estimation of Reliability function and one shape parameter (?) of two- parameters Burr – XII , when ?(shape parameter is known) (?=0.5,1,1.5) and also the initial values of (?=1), while different sample shze n= 10, 20, 30, 50) bare used. The results depend on empirical study through simulation experiments are applied to compare the four methods of estimation, as well as computing the reliability function . The results of Mean square error indicates that Jacknif estimator is better than other three estimators , for all sample size and parameter values

Effect of laser process an inclined surface cutting of mild steel then analysis data statistically by RSM
...Show More Authors

The regression analysis process is used to study and predicate the surface response by using the design of experiment (DOE) as well as roughness calculation through developing a mathematical model. In this study; response surface methodology and the particular solution technique are used. Design of experiment used a series of the structured statistical analytic approach to investigate the relationship between some parameters and their responses. Surface roughness is one of the important parameters which play an important role. Also, its found that the cutting speed can result in small effects on surface roughness. This work is focusing on all considerations to make interaction between the parameters (position of influenc

A Quantitative Analysis of the Mixing of Three Solids Different in Density by an Air Fluidized Bed
...Show More Authors

Three cohesionless free flowing materials of different density were mixed in an air fluidized bed to study the mixing process by calculating performance of mixing index according to Rose equation (1959) and to study the effect of four variables (air velocity, mixing time, particle size of trace component and concentration of trace component) on the mixing index and as well as on mixing performance. It was found that mixing index increases with increasing the air velocity, mixing time and concentration of trace component until the optimum value. Mixing index depends on the magnitude of difference in particle size The first set of experiments (salt then sand then cast iron) give higher mixing index and better performance of mixing than the
