Effect of Initial Water Content on the Properties of Compacted Expansive Unsaturated Soil
...Show More Authors

Unsaturated soil can raise many geotechnical problems upon wetting and drying resulting in swelling upon wetting and collapsing (shrinkage) in drying and changing in the soil shear strength. The classical principles of saturated soil are often not suitable in explaining these phenomena. In this study, expansive  soil (bentonite and sand) were tested in different water contents and dry unit weight chosen from the compaction curve to examine the effect of water content change on soil properties (swelling pressure, expansion index, shear strength (soil cohesion) and soil suction by the filter paper method). The physical properties of these soils were studied by conducting series of tests in laboratory. Fitting methods were applied to obtain the whole curve of the SWRC measured by the filter paper method with the aid of the (Soil Vision) program. The study reveals that the initial soil conditions (water content and dry unit weight) affect the soil cohesion, soil suction and soil swelling, where all these parameters marginally decrease with the increase in soil water content especially on the wet side of optimum.

Effect of Organic / Inorganic Gate Materials on the Organic Field-Effect Transistors Performance
...Show More Authors

The choice of gate dielectric materials is fundamental for organic field effect transistors (OFET), integrated circuits, and several electronic applications. The operation of the OFET depends on two essential parameters: the insulation between the semiconductor layer and the gate electrode and the capacitance of the insulator. In this work, the electrical behavior of a pentacene-based OFET with a top contact / bottom gate was studied. Organic polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and inorganic hafnium oxide (HfO2) were chosen as gate dielectric materials to lower the operation voltage to achieve the next generation of electronic applications. In this study, the performance of the OFET was studied using monolayer and bilayer gate insulators.

TRIAXIAL TEST OF HYDRATED LIME ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF HOT MIX ASPHALT CONCRETE
...Show More Authors

This paper reports on the experimental study, which conducted a series of triaxial tests for the asphalt concrete using hydrated lime as a mineral additive. Three HMA mixes, prepared by the specification for wearing, levelling and base layers, were studied under three different temperatures. The test results have demonstrated that, compared with the control mixes excluding HL, the permanent deformation resistance of the HL modified mixes has significant improvement. The deformation has been reduced at the same load repetition number, meanwhile the flow number has been considerably increased. The degree of improvement in permanent deformation resistance using HL is more pronounced at high stress deviation states and high temperature.

Influence of Silver Nanoparticles on the Specific Properties of Acrylic Resin for Ocular Prosthesis
...Show More Authors

Scleral acrylic resin is widely used to synthesize ocular prosthesis. However, the properties of this material change over time, thus requiring the prosthesis to be refabricated. Many studies were conducted to improve these properties by reinforcing this material with nanoparticles. This study aims to evaluate the effect of silver nanoparticle powder on the mechanical properties (transverse flexural strength, impact strength, shear bond strength, surface microhardness, and surface roughness) of scleral acrylic resin used for ocular prostheses. Two concentrations were selected from the pilot study and evaluated for their effects on scleral acrylic resin properties. According to the pilot study, 0.01 and 0.02wt% AgNPs powder improved

Impact of Zinc Oxide on the Structural and Dielectric Properties of NiO/ZnO Composites
...Show More Authors

The a.c conductivity and dielectric properties of the prepared composites NiO:ZnO composites samples with various mixing ratios (100:0,80:20,60:40,40:60,20:80 and 0:100) wt. % were carried out . The structure phase, the crystallite size and purity of the fabricated NiO:ZnO composites were confirmed using x-ray diffraction pattern. The results declared that the diffraction spectrum of composites samples were compatible with cubic and hexagonal structures phases for 100%NiOand ZnO respectively while the spectrum were compatible with both phases for the residual composites samples. The crystallite size of the most pronounced plane (101) for crystal growth was changed from 23 nm to 49 .4 nm by

Dealing of the Providers of Sport Media Content with Crises : (The Department of Media of the Ministry of Youth and Sports a Model)
...Show More Authors

In a report by Transparency Organization in 2010, Iraq has 200 newspapers, magazines, sixty-seven radio stations and 45 satellite TV channels. The increase in these figures is measured in days or weeks and not months and years. This fact confirms the importance of studying content providers, especially youth sports content, for two reasons: the first is that young people constitute the highest percentage in Iraqi society, with all the potential involved in shaping the future aspects; the second reason is that for years sport has become an important pillar in people's lives not only in the entertainment aspect as it was seen in the past; Rather, sport has an influential presence in politi

Abstract<p>To study the response of the celery plant to nitrogen fertilization and spray with salicylic acid in the leaves content of nutrients, the research was conducted in one of the fields of the Department of Horticulture and Gardening Engineering / College of Agriculture / University of Baghdad within the 2019-2018 season. The research was carried out as a global experiment and with the design of complete randomized sectors (RCBD) and with three replicates, the first factor included the addition of nitrogen with three levels and its symbol (N) (N1 control), (N2) g / m2 18 ), (N3) 37 g / m2 and the second factor spraying acid salicylic is denoted by</p> ...     The main goal of the current research is to know -Environmental problems included in the content of the two science books (chemistry units) for intermediate stage

A list of environmental problems had been prepared  and  consisting of (8) main areas which are (air and atmosphere pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, energy, disturbance of biodiversity and environmental balance, waste management, food and medicinal pollution, investment of mineral wealth). Of which (60) sub-problems,  at that time the researcher analyzed the two science books (two chemistry units) for the intermediate stage of the academic year (2020-2021) in light of the list that was prepared, and the validity and consisten
