Background: Polymorphisms in the TNF-α gene affect the development and progression of rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: A case-control study was conducted in Baghdad, Iraq. Twenty healthy controls and 63 patients confirmed to be newly diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis were included.
