A genetic algorithm model coupled with artificial neural network model was developed to find the optimal values of upstream, downstream cutoff lengths, length of floor and length of downstream protection required for a hydraulic structure. These were obtained for a given maximum difference head, depth of impervious layer and degree of anisotropy. The objective function to be minimized was the cost function with relative cost coefficients for the different dimensions obtained. Constraints used were those that satisfy a factor of safety of 2 against uplift pressure failure and 3 against piping failure.
Different cases reaching 1200 were modeled and analyzed using geo-studio modeling, with different values of input variables. The soil was considered homogeneous anisotropic. For each case, the length of protection (L) and the volume of the superstructure (V) required to satisfy the factors of safety mentioned above were calculated. These data were used to obtain an artificial neural network model for estimating (L) and (V) for a given length of upstream cutoff (S1), length of downstream cutoff (S2), head difference (H), length of floor (B), depth of impervious layer (D) and degree of anisotropy (kx/ky).
A MatLAB code was written to perform a genetic algorithm optimization modeling using the obtained ANN model .The obtained optimum solution for some selected cases were compared with the Geo-studio modeling to find the length of protection required in the downstream side and volume required for superstructure. Values estimated were found comparable to the obtained values from the Genetic Algorithm model.
Let Q be a left Module over a ring with identity ℝ. In this paper, we introduced the concept of T-small Quasi-Dedekind Modules as follows, An R-module Q is T-small quasi-Dedekind Module if,

Let R be a commutative ring with identity, and W be a unital (left) R-module. In this paper we introduce and study the concept of a quasi-small prime modules as generalization of small prime modules.
Low incoming discharge upstream of Samarra-Al Tharthar System leads to sediment accumulation and forming islands, especially an island upstream of Al Tharthar Regulator. This island and the sedimentation threaten the stability of the structure and reduce the efficiency of the system. This study aims to hydraulically identify the sedimentation problem mentioned above, to find solutions of how to control the sediment problems, and to develop the capacity of
the system for 500 years return period flood of 15060 m3/s. Surface Water Modeling System (SMS10.1) with two dimensional depth average models (RMA-2) software were used to simulate and analyze the system. The results of analysis showed that the maximum permissible discharge through t
One of the most important phenomena facing the athlete is the anxiety of sports competition, as he faces many psychological problems during training and in competitions of psychological tension, fear and anxiety that accompany him sometimes, which leads to affecting his level, and sports competition anxiety is a special type of anxiety that occurs in the athlete It is related to the attitudes of sports competitions and that participation in sports competitions and the associated emotional experiences are among the important factors that motivate the practice of sports activity and try to advance and develop his sports level. It is assumed that when the individual begins to practice any activity, he aims to reach a level or degree of achie

Lotka-Volterra and Holling type II functional responses have been assumed to describe the feeding processes . The local and global stability of steady points of this model are established. Finally, the global dynamics are studied numerically to investigate the influence of the parameters on the solutions of the system, especially the effect of fear and anti-predation.
This paper deals with the modeling of a preventive maintenance strategy applied to a single-unit system subject to random failures.
According to this policy, the system is subjected to imperfect periodic preventive maintenance restoring it to ‘as good as new’ with probability
p and leaving it at state ‘as bad as old’ with probability q. Imperfect repairs are performed following failures occurring between consecutive
preventive maintenance actions, i.e the times between failures follow a decreasing quasi-renewal process with parameter a. Considering the
average durations of the preventive and corrective maintenance actions a
... Show MoreIn this paper, game theory was used and applied to the transport sector in Iraq, as this sector includes two axes, the public transport axis and the second axis the private transport axis, as each of these axes includes several types of transport, namely (sea transport, air transport, land transport, transport by rail, port transport) and the travel and tourism sector, as public transport lacks this sector, as the competitive advantage matrix for the transport sector was formed and after applying the MinMax-MaxMin principle to the matrix in all its stages, it was found that there was an equilibrium point except for the last stage where the equilibrium point was not available Therefore, the use of the linear programming method was
