Design, Construction, and Control Tracking of Solar Thermal Concentrator by Using PLC in Erbil

This paper demonstrates the construction designing analysis and control strategies for fully tracking concentrated solar thermal by using programmable logic control in the city of Erbil-Iraq. This work used the parabolic dish as a concentrated solar thermal. At the focal point, the collected form of energy is used for heating a (water) in the receiver, analyzing this prototype in real-time with two different shapes of the receiver and comparing the results. For tracking the parabolic dish, four light-dependent resistors are used to detect the sun's position in the sky so that the tracking system follows it to make the beam radiation perpendicular to the collector surface all of the time during the day for maximum solar power energy. This work discusses the essential stages of a two-axis prototype; implementation, solar-location strategy, the analysis in terms of theory, structural design, and material. For two-axis-prototype is implemented with the help of programmable logic control -Siemens (S7-1200) as a control unit. This study results show that a parabolic dish tracker with a cylindrical conical receiver obtains 15.25% Improved efficiency in comparison to the cylindrical receiver. According to the testing results of the prototype design, both shapes of the receiver are convenient for steam production.

Abstract. This work presents a detailed design of a three-jointed tendon-driven robot finger with a cam/pulleys transmission and joint Variable Stiffness Actuator (VSA). The finger motion configuration is obtained by deriving the cam/pulleys transmission profile as a mathematical solution that is then implemented to achieve contact force isotropy on the phalanges. A VSA is proposed, in which three VSAs are designed to act as a muscle in joint space to provide firm grasping. Study of Mechanical and Thermal Behavior for Epoxy Reinforced by Fibers

In this study, epoxy was used as a matrix for composite materials, with E-glass fiber, jute and PVC fiber which was woven roving fiber, as reinforcement with volume fraction (Vf= 30%). There are two of prepared types of epoxy non reinforced, epoxy reinforced with E-glass, jute and PVC fibers including study of mechanical tests (Impact test, Bending test) different temperature and thermal conductivity and calculating the temperatures coefficient at different temperature. Results show that elastic modulus at rate values decrease to the increase of temperature and the impact strength, impact energy and thermal conductivity increase with increase temperature.

Advanced Oxidation of Antibiotics Polluted Water Using Titanium Dioxide in Solar Photocatalysis Reactor

The aim of this study was to investigate antibiotic amoxicillin removal from syn­thetic pharmaceutical wastewater. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) was used in photocatalysis treatment method under natural solar irradiation in a tubular reactor. The photocatalytic removal efficiency was evaluated by the reduction in amoxicillin concentration. The effects of antibiotics concentration, TiO2 dose, irradiation time and the effect of pH were studied. The optimum conditions were found to be irradiation time 5 hr, catalyst dosage 0.6 g/L, flow rate 1 L/min and pH 5.
