Effect of Using Porcelanite as Partial Replacement of Fine Aggregate on Roller Compacted Concrete with Different Curing Methods
...Show More Authors

Roller-Compacted Concrete is a no-slump concrete, with no reinforcing steel, no forms, no finishing and wet enough to support compaction by vibratory rollers. Due to the effect of curing on properties and durability of concrete, the main purpose of this research is to study the effect of various curing methods (air curing, 7 days water curing, and permanent water curing) and porcelanite (local material used as an Internal Curing agent) with different replacement percentages of fine aggregate (volumetric replacement) on some properties of Roller-Compacted Concrete and to explore the possibility of introducing practical Roller-Compacted Concrete for road pavement with minimum requirement of curing. Specimens were sawed from slabs of (380*380*100) mm for determination of Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) and Voids volume. Results show that using (5) % porcelanite improved the results of  UPV and Voids volume of Roller-Compacted Concrete (with air curing) as compared with reference Roller-Compacted Concrete (with permanent water curing) by percentages ranging from(3.6 to 28.9)% and (-8 to -15.5)% respectively.

Fuzzy Multi-Objective Capacitated Transportation Problem with Mixed Constraints using different forms of membership functions
...Show More Authors

In this research, the problem of multi- objective modal transport was formulated with mixed constraints to find the optimal solution. The foggy approach of the Multi-objective Transfer Model (MOTP) was applied. There are three objectives to reduce costs to the minimum cost of transportation, administrative cost and cost of the goods. The linear membership function, the Exponential membership function, and the Hyperbolic membership function. Where the proposed model was used in the General Company for the manufacture of grain to reduce the cost of transport to the minimum and to find the best plan to transfer the product according to the restrictions imposed on the model.

Effect different concetration and pH on complexes formation of New Tetradentate Schiff base Ligand
...Show More Authors

New N2O2 donor kind Schiff basehas been destined and structured by reaction Ampyrone with O-hydroxyacetophenone and Anthranilic acid. The metal complexes of the Schiff base with Mn(II), Hg(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Co(II) metal ions were designed and characterized by magnetic susceptibility, elemental analyses, molar conduction, IR, and 1H NMR,UV-Vis spectral metrics. The UV-Vis. and magnetic susceptibility data of the complexes suggest a square-planar, tetrahedraland octahedral geometries around the central metal ions. All elaborations were accomplished after determination the optimum molar concentration and pH which followed law of Lambert-Beer's in the researches pH scopes. The composition of these complexes were conclude dapprobating to t

Synergistic Effect of Different Ions and Hexadecyltrimethylammonium Bromide on Wettability Alteration for Carbonate Rock
...Show More Authors

Naturally carbonate reservoirs have very low oil recovery efficiency owing to their wettability and tightness of matrix. However, adding surfactant to brine solution can enhance oil recovery by changing the wettability of the carbonate rock surface from oil-wet to water-wet. In the present study, the effects of different brines in the presence of surfactant hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), on the wettability of carbonate rock were investigated through different characteristics such as surface tension interfacial tension and contact angle. The best concentration of CTAB was investigated at 500 ppm in brine (NaCl) reduced surface tension and interfacial tensions to 42 mN/m and 15 mN/m respectively and prevented reservoir fro

An Evaluation of Some Mechanical Properties of Autopolymerizing Acrylic Resin with the Modified One after Changing the Curing Environment: (In vitro Study)
...Show More Authors

Background: Studying and investigating the transverse strength(Ts), impact strength(Is), hardness (Hr) and surface roughness(Ra) of conventional and modified autopolymerizing acrylic resin with different weight percentages of biopolymer kraftlignin, after curing in different water temperatures; 40°C and 80°C. Material and Methods: Standard acrylic specimens were fabricated according to ADA specification No.12 for transverse strength, ISO 179 was used for impact testing, Shore D for hardness and profilometerfor surface roughness. The material lignin first dispersed in the monomer, then the powder PMMA is immediately added. Ligninadded in different weight percentages. Then cured using pressure pot (Ivomet) in two temperatures;40°C a

Revaluation of Student Failure Reasons Using Non-Additive Methods
...Show More Authors

In this paper, An application of non-additive measures for re-evaluating the degree of importance of some student failure reasons has been discussed. We apply non-additive fuzzy integral model (Sugeno, Shilkret and Choquet) integrals for some expected factors which effect student examination performance for different students' cases.

Improvement of Asphalt Concrete Mixtures by Adding Pulverised Fuel Ash as Filler
...Show More Authors

Consuming of by-product or waste materials in highway engineering is significant in the construction of new roads and/or in renovations of the existing ones. Pulverised Fuel ash (PFA), which is a by-product material of burning coal in power stations, is one of these materials that might be incorporated instead of mineral filler in hot asphalt mixtures.

Two types of surface course mixtures have been prepared one with conventional mineral filler i.e. ordinary Portland cement (OPC) while the second was with PFA. Several testings have been conducted to indicate the mechanical properties which were Marshall Stability and Indirect Tensile Strength tests. On the other hand, moisture damage and ageing have been evaluated

Curing of Maleimidyl Phenol-Formaldehyde Resins Via Esterification and Free Radical Polymerization
...Show More Authors

Three phenol-formaldehyde resins having pendant maleimides were prepared by poly condensation of N-(hydroxyphenyl) maleimides with formaldehyde under conditions similar to those in Novolac preparation. The prepared resins were modified by two methods, the first one includes esterification of phenolic hydroxyl groups in the prepared resins via their treatment with benzoyl, acryloyl, methacryloyl and cinnamoyl chlorides respectively in the presence of triethylamine, while the second modification includes free radical polymerization of vinylic bonds in the prepared resins to produce cross-linked thermally stable polymers.

A Review on Expansive Soils Stabilized with Different Pozzolanic Materials
...Show More Authors

Soils that cause effective damages to engineer structures (such as pavement and foundation) are called problematic or difficult soils (include collapsible soil, expansive soil, etc.). These damages occur due to poor or unfavorited engineering properties, such as low shear strength, high compressibility, high volume changes, etc. In the case of expansive soil, the problem of the shrink-swell phenomenon, when the soil reacts with water, is more pronounced. To overcome such problems, soils can be treated or stabilized with many stabilization ways (mechanical, chemical, etc.). Such ways can amend the unfavorited soil properties. In this review, the pozzolanic materials have been selected to be presented and discussed as chem
