The study was conducted from November 2021 to May 2022 at the three study sites within the Baghdad governorate. The study aims to identify the impact of human activities on the Tigris River, so an area free of human activities was chosen and represented the first site. A total of 48 types were diagnosed, 6204 ind/m3 spread over three sites. The following environmental indicators were evaluated: Constancy Index (S), Relative abundance index (Ra), Richness Index (between 17.995 and 23.251), Shannon Weiner Index (0.48-1.25 bit/ind.), Uniformity Index (0.124 -0.323). Bacteriological characteristics of Tigris river water were assessed monthly to monitor the impact of pollutants of Medical City waste water for the period from January to June-2013. Four stations were selected for the study, the first station placed before the Medical City Complex (500 meters).       This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Tharthar Arm on the composition and diversity of Rotifera in Tigris River. Six sampling sites were selected, two on Tharthar Arm and four along the Tigris River, one before the confluence as a control site and the others downstream of the confluence. Seventy-seven species of Rotifera were identified in Tigris, whereas, 60 in the arm. The results showed that low density of Rotifera in Tharthr Arm decreased the density in Tigris from 239812.4 upstream of the confluence to 223315.5 at immediate downstream of the confluence. this study aimed to study the effect of Cordia myxa extract on the growth and activities of the following types of bacteria : Escherichia coli , Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus Spp., Klebsiella pneumoniae , Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes , Bacillus subtilus, and the yeast Candida albicans .the results showed an inhibitory effect of the methanol extract on both the growth and activity of the tested microbes .this was reflected by the minimum inhibitory concentration ( MIC ) of different type of bacteria and the yeast.

     Twenty-five groundwater samples from the Al-Zubair area, southern Iraq, were analyzed for physical and chemical variables. The study showed that the groundwater is of acidic type and in it tends towards light alkalinity. Both electrical conductivity and the total dissolved solids showed increased concentrations of sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium and sulfate, chloride, bicarbonate, and nitrate. methanolicextracts of Myrtle (Myrtuscommunis), peppermint (Menthapiperita) and
