Background: Chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) is the result of aninitial episode of acute otitis media and is characterized by a persistent discharge from the middle ear through a tympanic perforation for at least 2 weeks duration. It is an important cause of preventable hearing loss, particularly in the developing world.Methods. 1. To get an overview on the bacterial ear infection profile in general 2. To assess the antibiotic resistance of Pseudomonal infection (PS) particularly since it is usually the commonest infection to cause otitis media and the most difficult to treat due to the problem of multi drug resistance... A cross sectional study was done which included 405 patient of CSOM patients196 (48%) case were males ,209 (52%)case were females. Swabs for aural discharge was taken from those patients. Discharge is cultured by inoculating it into blood , MacConkey agar , chocolate agars and Sabouraud agar (for fungi).If the isolate shows to be Pseudomonas isolate growth then another culture of the isolate is performed on Muller Hinton Agar. Then the antibiotic susceptibility and resistance of Pseudomonas isolate is assessed by (Kirby-Bauer Method)Results:196 (48%) case were males.209 (52%) case were females with a male to female ratio 1:1.1150 (73%) cases were infected with Pseudomonas species (PS) The sensitivity of the Pseudomonas isolates to the following antibiotics is shown below:Amikacin 91.7%Imipenem 89.7%Ceftazidime 81.8%Ciprofloxacin 73.7%Garamycin 72.9%Tobramycin 67.7%Ticarcillin 66.7%Cefoperazone 42.9%Conclusions: Pseudomonas species is the commonest microorganism in cases of CSOM.Microbiological identifications and antibiotic resistance determination of pathogens isolated from the middle ear in patients with CSOM not responding to empirical antibiotic treatment gives possibility of the choice of an effective antibiotic and its proper dosage. Cefoperazone ,a relatively new antibiotic that is used in Iraq to combat pseudomonal infections has proven to be poorly effective compared with other previously used antibiotics.

The present work focuses on the experimental implementation of one of the fiber optical sensors, the optical glass fiber built on surface Plasmon resonance. A type of optical glass fiber was used in this work, single-mode no-core fiber with pre-tapering diameter: (125.1 μm) and (125.3 μm), respectively. The taper method can be tested by measuring the output power of the optical fiber before and after chemical etching to show the difference in cladding diameter due to the effect of hydrofluoric acid with increasing time for the taper process. Microbiological contamination by fungi impacts the quality and safety of wheat grain storage. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of cold plasma in restricting the growth of the fungus, Aspergillus niger, which was isolated from wheat grains. A dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) operating at atmospheric pressure generated cold plasma that was used to treat the fungus, and the impact of this treatment was investigated at various periods 1, 2, 4, 6, and 15 minutes. The results revealed a highly significant decrease in the growth and number of spores of Aspergillus niger compared to the controls. This study revealed an efficient technique for enhancing wheat grain storage that could be a foundation for further large-scale studies.

Spectrophotometer lambda - UV, Visible instrument is used to determine energy gap (Eg). Co-60, Cs-137, and Sr-90 are used to irradiate SiC samples for different time of irradiation. In this paper the experimentally obtained conditions for the fusion splicing with photonic crystal fibers (PCF) having large mode areas were reported. The physical mechanism of the splice loss and the microhole collapse property of photonic crystal fiber (PCF) were studied. By controlling the arc-power and the arc-time of a conventional electric arc fusion splicer (FSM-60S), the minimum loss of splicing for fusion two conventional single mode fibers (SMF-28) was (0.00dB), which has similar mode field diameter. For splicing PCF (LMA-10) with a conventional single mode fiber (SMF-28), the loss was increased due to the mode field mismatch.
Water contamination is a pressing global concern, especially regarding the presence of nitrate ions. This research focuses on addressing this issue by developing an effective adsorbent for removing nitrate ions from aqueous solutions. two adsorbents Chitosan-Zeolite-Zirconium (Cs-Ze-Zr composite beads and Chitosan-Bentonite-Zirconium Cs-Bn-Zr composite beads were prepared. The study involved continuous experimentation using a fixed bed column with varying bed heights (1.5 and 3 cm) and inlet flow rates (1 and 3 ml/min).
