A Theoretical Investigation of Enhanced Thermoelectric Figure of Merit of Low-Dimensional Structures
...Show More Authors

The power factors and electronic thermal conductivities in bismuth telluride (Bi2Te3), lead-telluride (PbTe), and gallium arsenide (GaAs) at room temperature (300K) quantum wires and quantum wells are theoretically investigated. Our formalism rigorously takes into account modification of these power factors and electronic thermal conductivities in free-surface wires and wells due to spatial confinement. From our numerical results, we predict a significant increase of the power factor in quantum wires with diameter w=20 Ã…. The increase is always stronger in quantum wires than in quantum wells of the corresponding dimensions. An unconfined phonon distribution assumed based on the bulk lattice thermal conductivity is then employed to evaluate the possible enhancement of the thermoelectric figure of merit. The electronic thermal conductivity of a 20Ã… diameter wire and a 20Ã… layer thickness is found to be of no significant decrease. The resultant ZT, calculated for Bi2Te3, PbTe and GaAs, quantum wires and quantum wells, showed increase significantly. The additional thermoelectric figure of merit enhancement is mostly due to the two- and one-dimensional carrier confinement which lead to the enhancement of power factor.

In this paper,  design computationl investigation in the field of charged-particle optics with the aid of numerical analysis methods  under the absence of space charge effects. The work has been concentrated on the design of three-electrode  einzel electrostatic  lens accelerating and decelerating operated under different magnification conditions.     The potential field distribution of  lens has been represented by exponential function.  The paraxial-ray equation has been solved for the proposed field to determine the trajectory of charged-particles traversing in the lens.  From The axial  potential distribution and its first and second derivatives, the optical propertie

Theoretical Studies of Sum Optical Properties for InAs (001) by Surface Differential Reflectivity
...Show More Authors

The real and imaginary part of complex dielectric constant for InAs(001) by adsorption of oxsagen atoms has been calculated, using numerical analysis method (non-linear least square fitting). As a result a mathematical model built-up and the final result show a fairly good agreement with other genuine published works.

Numerical investigation for Natural Convection in a square Enclosure with partially active thermal sides' wall
...Show More Authors

Three-dimensional cavity was investigated numerical in the current study filled with porous medium from a saturated fluid. The problem configuration consists of two insulated bottom and right wall and left vertical wall maintained at constant temperatures at variable locations, using two discretized heaters. The porous cavity fluid motion was represented by the momentum equation generalized model. The present investigation thermophysical parameters included the local thermal equilibrium condition. The isotherms and streamlines was used to examine energy transport and momentum. The meaning of changing parameters on the established average Nusselt number, temperature and velocity distribution are highlighted and discussed.

Assessment of Cysts and Cystic-Like Lesions of the Jaws and Their Effect on Adjacent Structures by Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)
...Show More Authors

Background: Preoperative radiographical assessment of the maxillofacial lesions is of a great importance in guiding the surgeon during surgical procedure in reducing post-operative complications. This study highlighted the application of CBCT scan in the assessment of maxillofacial cystic and cystic like lesions as a part of advanced radiology Materials and methods: A total of 20 patients (15 males and 5 females) participated in this prospective study. CBCT scan (Kodak 9500 CBCT) with (DICOM) software utilized to perform scanning to all patients in order to assess lesion extension, morphological features and it’s relation to the adjacent vital structures. Results: In this study, the total cystic and cystic like lesions involving the

Investigation of Aluminum Arsenide Honeycomb Monolayer via Density Functional Theory
...Show More Authors

First principle calculations are performed to theoretically predict the physical properties of hexagonal aluminium arsenide planar and buckled monolayers. The structural characteristics showed that the buckled parameter is about 0.32 A°. Cohesive energies have favourable values and it indicates the fabrication possibility. Phonon dispersion properties indicated that the planar aluminium arsenic monolayers are dynamically unstable, while the buckled is less dynamically unstable. The elastic constant parameters achieved the required characteristics of stable hexagonal monolayer structures. The study of electronic band structure prefers to indirect semiconductor band gaps, and the density of states showed strong orbital hybridizati

Experimental Investigation of Moisture Sorption Isotherms for Mefenamic Acid Tablets
...Show More Authors

The moisture sorption isotherms of Mefenamic acid tablets were investigated by measuring the experimental equilibrium moisture content (EMC) using the static method of saturated salt solutions at three temperatures (25, 35, and 45°C) and water activity range from 0.056 to 0.8434. The results showed that EMC increased when relative humidity increased and the sorption capacity decreased, the tablets became less hygroscopic and more stable when the temperature increased at constant water activity. The sorption curves had a sigmoid shape, type II according to Brunauer’s classification. The hysteresis effect was significant along with the whole sorption process. The results were fitted to three models: Oswin, Smith, and Guggen

Design Investigation of 4 × 4 Nonblocking Hybrid Plasmonic Electrooptic Switch
...Show More Authors

This paper proposes a compact, plasmonic-based 4 × 4 nonblocking switch for optical networks. This device uses six 2 × 2 plasmonic Mach-Zehnder switch (MZS), whose arm waveguide is supported by a JRD1 polymer layer as a high electro-optic coefficient material. The 4 × 4 switch is designed in COMSOL environment for 1550 nm wavelength operation. The performance of the proposed switch outperforms those of conventional (nonplasmonic) counterparts. The designed switch yields a compact structure ( 500 × 70   µ m 2 ) having V π L = 12   V · µ m , 1.5 THz optical bandwidth, 7.7 dB insertion loss, and −26.5 dB crosstalk. The capability of the switch to route 8 × 40 Gbps WDM signal is demonstrated successfully.

Experimental Investigation of Reinforced Concrete Columns with Steel Embedded Tubes
...Show More Authors

This study aimed to investigate the influence of longitudinal steel embedded tubes located at the center of the column cross-section on the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) columns. The experimental program consisted of 8 testing pin-ended square sectional columns of 150×150 mm, having a total height of 1400 mm, subjected to eccentric load. The considered variables were the steel square tube sizes of 25, 51 and 68 mm side dimensions and the load eccentricity (50 and 150) mm. RC columns were concealed steel tubes with hollow ratios of 3%, 12% and 20% depending on tube sizes used. The experimental results indicated an improvement in the overall behavior of eccentric columns when steel embedded tubes are used. The maximum gain in

Investigation and Study of Photonic Current Rate in Bremsstrahlung process
...Show More Authors

In this paper, we investigate and study quantum theoretical of quark-gluon interaction modeling in QGP matter formatted. In theoretical modeling, we can use a flavor number, strength coupling, critical energy Tc = 190 MeV, system energy (400-650)MeV, fugacity of quark and gluon, and photon energy in range of 1-10 GeV parameter to calculation and investigation spectrum of photon rate. We calculation and study the photon rate produced through bremsstrahlung processes from the stable QGP matter. The photon rate production from cg → dgy systems at bremsstrahlung processes are found to be increased with increased fugacity, decreased strength coupling, decreased the photons energy and temperature of system. The photons rate in cg → dgy is inc
