Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Schiff Bases of Imide Moiety

    In our research novel schiff bases of imides moiety have been synthesized . Novel Schiff base derivatives of imides moiety have been synthesized by multistep reaction . First step involves prepare 2-amino -5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole (I) by the cyclization of thiosemicarbazide with carbon disulphide and anhydrous sodium carbonate in ethanol as a solvent . Then , compound (I) was  reacted with phthalic anhydride in the presence of glacial acetic acid to give 2-(5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl) isoindoline-1,3-dion (II).Compound (II)was heated with ethyl chloracetate in the presence of potassium carbonatproduced ethyl 2(5-(1,3-dioxoisoindoline -2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-yl thio) acetate (III).The reaction of compound (III) with  hydrazine hydrate yielded 2-(5-(1,3-dioxoisoindoline -2-yl)-1,3,4thiadiazol-jm2-ylthio)acetohydrazide (IV).The fifth step involves reaction of compound (IV) with N,N-dimethyl aminobenzaldehyde to yield N´-(4-(dimethyl amino)benzylidene )-2-(5(1,3-dioxoisoindoline-2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-yl-thio)acetohydrazide (V).The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by physical properties and spectral (FTIR,1H-NMR)analysis

Synthesis and some Features of Three-Phases Polymer/Metal/Ceramic Multilayers Nanocomposite

      Layer by layer development two features of pulsed laser deposition PLD, with a high kinetic energy and sharp instantaneous deposition rating. Layered films of polymer/metal/ceramic nanocomposites consisting of polystyrene PS(as substrate) , tin Sn and cadmium oxide CdO were deposited by PLD. Structure for layered samples were measured  by XRD X ray diffraction, there were appearance of peaks  which reflected  to formation of new compounds result of  reaction between layers. Particles size  was calculated using two methods and it give nanoscale. Microstrain was also calculated  and exhibited  high value (0.01) for sample p/m.

Synthesis of CuO Nano structure via Sol-Gel and Precipitation Chemical Methods

CuO nanoparticles were synthesized in two different ways, firstly by precipitation method using copper acetate monohydrate Cu(CO2CH13)2·H2O, glacial acetic acid (CH3COOH) and sodium hydroxide(NaOH), and secondly by sol-gel method using copper chloride(CuCl2), sodium  hydroxide (NaOH) and ethanol (C2H6O). Roseomonas gilardii NCTC 13290 Strain Pigment Extraction and Characterization

Introduction: The study was intended for Roseomonas gilardii NTCC 13290 strain pigment extraction and characterization. Methodology: The pigment-producing bacterial were cultured on Columbia blood agar and nutrient media agar. Then the pigments were extracted by ethanol. The candidate pigment was further characterized by different biotechnological techniques: UV-Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR to analyze the functional group of the targeted pigment, and TLC media.
