In this research, the study effect of additive titanium dioxide powder (TiO2) as a lone composite ( Ep+TiO2) and a mixture of (TiO2) and silicon oxide (SiO2), ( Ep+ TiO2+SiO2)as a hybrid composite on the mechanical and physical properties for epoxy coating. Thescompsiteswere prepared by (Hand Lay- the molding) method. The samples were tested for compressive strength, surface hardness, modulus of elasticity, thermal conductivity and diffusion coefficient, from the results obtained showed improvement in mechanical properties after adding ceramic powders, as the alone composite (EP+ TiO2) had the highest compressive strength ( 53.738 ) ᴍPa, the hybrid composite ( EP+TiO2 +SiO2 ) had the highest surface hardness (79.65), modulus of elasticity (1166.66 ) ᴍPa, impact strength ( 8.48) ᴍPa, thermal conductivity (0.4961 )watt/ m.c◦. As for the diffusion coefficient in the acidic solution ( HCL), the epoxy without adding the highest diffusion coefficient ( 31.3x 10-10) m2/ sec while for immersion in ordinary water, the one composite material (Ep+ TiO2) had the highest value of the diffusion coefficient (7.56x10-10)m2/sec.
In this study, epoxy was used as a matrix for composite materials, with E-glass fiber, jute and PVC fiber which was woven roving fiber, as reinforcement with volume fraction (Vf= 30%). There are two of prepared types of epoxy non reinforced, epoxy reinforced with E-glass, jute and PVC fibers including study of mechanical tests (Impact test, Bending test) different temperature and thermal conductivity and calculating the temperatures coefficient at different temperature. Results show that elastic modulus at rate values decrease to the increase of temperature and the impact strength, impact energy and thermal conductivity increase with increase temperature.
A hand lay-up method was used to prepare Epoxy/ metal composites. Epoxy resin (EP) was used as a matrix with metal particles (Al, Cu, and Fe) as fillers.
The preparation method includes preparing square panels of composites with different weight percentage of fillers (10, 20, 30, 40, and 50%). Standard specimens (88mm in diameter) for thermal conductivity tests were prepared to measure thermal conductivity kexp.The result of experimental thermal conductivity kexp, for EP/metal composites show that, kexp increase with increasing weight percentage, For EP/ Al and EP/Cu composites, and it have have maximum values of 0.33 and 0.35 W/m.K, respectively. While kexp for EP/ Fe composite show slight increase with maximum value of 0.186 W/m.K.
This researchs the preparation of particulate polymer composites from Alkyd resin and Iraqi Burn Kaolin which were added as (20%,30%,40%,50%)and comparing with the polymer. It studied Thermal conductivity and Dielectric strength for both of the Alkyd resin and the Composite Material. The result showed an increase in Dielectric strength after adding the Iraqi Burn Kaolin , also the Thermal conductivity was increased by adding the Iraqi Burn Kaolin .

Interest has largely centered on the use of plant fibers to reinforce plastics, because these fibers are abundant and cheap. Carrot fibers (Curran) have been extracted from carrot, left over from carrot juice manufacture. The fibers of two sizes fine (50<µm) and coarse (100-150 µm) have been mixed with epoxy in four levels of loading (10, 20, 30, 40 wt %) respectively. Impact test, shore d hardness test and three point bending test of epoxy and carrot fiber-epoxy composites samples have been determined. The impact strength values of samples prepared with fine and coarse fibers increased as compared with pure epoxy sample. Hardness values increased, and the Young’s modulus values decreased with fiber content of both sizes.
In this study, composite materials were prepared using unsaturated polyester resin as binder with two types of fillers (sawdust and chopped reeds). The molding method is used to prepare sheets of UPE / sawdust composite and UPE / chopped reeds composite. The mechanical properties were studied including flexural strength and Young's modulus for the samples at normal conditions (N.C). Show MoreThis research study the effect of surface modification and copper (Cu) plating carbon fiber (CF) surface on the thermal stability and wettability of carbon fiber (CF)/epoxy (EP) composites. The TGA result indicates that the thermal-stability of carbon fiber may be enhanced after Cu coating CF. TGA curve showed that the treatment temperature was enhanced thermal stability of Ep/CF, this is due to the oxidation during heating. The Cu plating increased the thermal conductivity, this increase might be due to reduce in contact resistance at the interface due to chemical modification and copper plating and tunneling resistance.

This research studies the development and synthesis of blended nanocomposites filled with Titanium dioxide (TiO2). Blended nanocomposites based on unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) and epoxy resins were synthesized by reactive blending. The optimum quantity from nano partical of titanium dioxide was selected and different weight proportions 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7% ratios of new epoxy are blended with UPR resin.
