Calculation of Stopping Power and Range of Nitrogen Ions with the Skin Tissue in the Energies of (1-1000) MeV

       The use of heavy ions in the treatment of cancer tumors allows for accurate radiation of the tumor with minimal collateral damage that may affect the healthy tissue surrounding the infected tissue. For this purpose, the stopping power and the range to which these particles achieved of  Nitrogen (N) in the skin tissue  were calculated by programs SRIM (The Stopping and Range of Ions in Matter),(SRIM Dictionary) [1],(CaSP)(Convolution  approximation for Swift Particles )[2]which are famous programs to calculate stopping power of material and Bethe formula , in the energy range (1 - 1000) MeV .Then  the semi - empirical formulas to calculate the stopping power and range of Nitrogen ions in the skin tissue were founded from fitting for average the values which calculated by using these programs using (MATLAB2016) program,the maximum value of energy for Nitrogen ions can lose along its path in skin tissue is founded and the  range correspond to this value, the maximum range for Nitrogen ions can be reached in the skin tissue is founded too .The importance of the research is to know the data of thes particles and their use in treatment without causing a bad effect on the patient.

Bioremediation of Polluted Water with Crude Oil in South Baghdad Power Plant

Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae appears good growth when replicate to culture with heavy crude oil. K. pneumoniae was less ability to biodegrade the heavy crude oil (66.22 wt.%) compare with P. aeruginosa 74 wt.%). Also the emulsion percent were about 64.8 % and 62.5 % for K. pneumoniae and P. aeruginosa, respectively. The results showed that the emulsions produced from both the strains decrease the surface tension of the media from 68.43 Mn/m (for control sample) to 44.50 and 43.30 Mn/m for P. aeruginosa and K. pneumoniae, respectively. The optimum temperature and pH for the hydrocarbons biodegradation were 28 ºC and 7, respectively. The incubation period of 28 days of the isolated increased hydrocarbons biodegradation

Relation- ships of neonatal septicemia with the mean serum levels of IL-8 and IL-1 in three large hospitals in Baghdad

Background: Neonatal septicemia (NNS) is the most serious complication in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) that demand urgent diagnosis and accurate treatment.
Methods: Serum was obtained from 31 neonates aged 1 hour-28 days that were diagnosed clinically and bacteriologically to have neonatal septicemia.
Results: Mean serum levels of both IL-8 and IL-1 recorded a significant increase in neonatal septicemia cases.
Conclusion: Usage of IL-8, IL-1 as diagnostic marker for NNS reduces unnecessary antibiotic therapy and therefore unnecessary costs, pain, and possible side effects of antibiotic
therapy and it may help to reduce development and spread of drug resistant bacteria.

Influence of the Different Carbon and Nitrogen Sources on the Production of Biodiesel by Oleaginous Fungi Aspergillus terreus, Aspergillus fumigatus

In the present study, the growth and total lipid contents of two oleaginous fungal isolates Aspergillus terreus, Aspergillus fumigatus were compared in different nitrogen and organic carbon sources.  Artificially the fungi were cultured on media consisting of various mono- or di- or polysaccharides and  peptone or yeast extract as elementary sources for carbon and nitrogen, respectively. Theoretical Calculation of The Fill Factor of N749/〖TiO〗_2 Solar Cells

Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of Nitrogen-Containing Anthraquinone Derivatives

New substituted anthraquinones with amino derivations fragments were synthesized through the substitution of bromine atom by different amines using the Ullmann coupling reaction.
