The new Schiff base, namely (2-Amino-phenylimino)-acetic acid (L) was prepared
from condensation of glyoxylic acid with o-phenylene diamine. The structure (L) was
characterized by, IR,

C-NMR and CHN analysis. Metal complexes of the ligand (L)
were synthesized and their structures were characterized by Atomic absorption, IR and UV-Visible spectra, molar conductivity, magnetic moment and molar ratio determination (Co

) complexes. All complexes showed octahedral geometries.

New metal complexes of some transition metal ions Co(II), Cu(II) , Cd(II) and Zn(II) were prepared by their reaction with previously prepared ligands HLI= (P-methyl anilino) phenyl acetonitrile and HLII = (P-methyl anilino) –P– chloro phenyl acetonitrile . The two ligands were prepared by Strecker’s procedure which includ the reaction of p- toluidine with benzaldehyde and P- chlorobenzaldehyde respectively. Background: Early detection of orthodontic disorders is essentialin motivating patients to intervene prior to long term complications when the disorders are not recongised. Methods: A questionnaire was distributed amongst dentistsother than orthodontists. This questionnaire consisted of three sections.
