The adsorption of Congo red (CR) dye on modified synthetic zeolite 5A , the general name of which is Linde Type A (LTA)which is modified by amino mercepto thiadiazole (AMT) and have been characterized by using fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) , x-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopies, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis. In this work Modified zeolite was utilized as adsorbent to remove (CR) dye from aqueous solution by adsorption. Batch experiments were conducted to study the effects contact time , initial concentration of adsorbate and temperature on dye adsorption. The equilibrium adsorption data were analyzed by using several isotherm models ( Freundlich , Langmuir , temkin , Dubinin-Radushkevitch and Redlich–Peterson )models. The best results were achieved with the Redlich–Peterson isotherm equilibrium model. The equilibrium adsorption capacity (qe) increases with the increase of the initial concentration of dye. The values of qe were found to be decreased with the increase of solution temperatures. The thermodynamic parameters ΔG°, ΔH° and ΔS° have been calculated.
A comparative study was done on the adsorption of methyl orange dye (MO) using non-activated and activated corn leaves with hydrochloric acid as an adsorbent material. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were utilized to specify the properties of adsorbent material. The effect of several variables (pH, initial dye concentration, temperature, amount of adsorbent and contact time) on the removal efficiency was studied and the results indicated that the adsorption efficiency increases with the increase in the concentration of dye, adsorbent dosage and contact time, while inversely proportional to the increase in pH and temperature for both the treated and untreated corn leav

A series of adsorption experiments were conducted to determine the equilibrium time and temperature effect on the adsorption process. The results showed that adsorption was agreed with the Freundlich equation model for the surface of the bauxite. As for the modified bauxite surface, the results were consistent with the Langmuir equation model. The values of the basic thermodynamic functions of the adsorption process were calculated, so the process of adsorption was founded spontaneous and endothermi
The present work aims to study the possibility of utilization a forward osmosis desalination process as an alternative method to extract water from brine solution rejected from reverse osmosis process.
Experiments conducted in a laboratory–scale forward osmosis (FO) unit in cross flow flat sheet membrane cell yielded water flux ranging from (0.0315 to 0.56 L/m2 .min) when using CTA membrane, and ranging from (0.419 to 2.785 L/m2 .min) for PA membrane under 0.4 bar. Two possible membrane orientations were tested. Sodium chloride with high concentrations was used as draw solution solute. The effect of membrane orientation on internal concentration polarization (ICP) was studied. Two regimes of ICP; dilutive and concentrative were desc
Poly urea formaldehyde –Bentonite (PUF-Bentonite) composite was tested as new adsorbent
for removal of mefenamic acid (MA) from simulated wastewater in batch adsorption
procedure. Developed a method for preparing poly urea formaldehyde gel in basic media by
using condensation polymerization. Adsorption experiments were carried out as a function of
water pH, temperature, contact time, adsorbent dose and initial MA concentration .Effect of
sharing surface with other analgesic pharmaceuticals at different pH also studied. The
adsorption of MA was found to be strongly dependent to pH. The Freundlich isotherm model
showed a good fit to the equilibrium adsorption data. From Dubinin–Radushkevich model the

Attempts were made over the years to achieve economic and easy methods for water purification. This could well save time, cost, and earn a good process quality for many countries. This study aims to enhance the purification process parameters for Congo red dye polluted water and introduce a developed methodology with an impact on many associated parameters such as the time for water purification process. The research proposes a method to achieve this time reduction by mixing gold nanoparticle (AuNPs) (prepared by chemical reduction method) with Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2NPs) (prepared by sol-gel techniques). The resulting mixture is incorporated into PVA host to synthesize a hard disk used as a purification d

Show MoreThe adsorption of cephalexin.H2O from aqueous solution on attapulgite, bentonite and kaolin has been studied at the human body temperature (37.5ËšC) and at 5, 27, 47ËšC in 0.1M hydrochloric acid (pH 1.2). The value of pH 1.2 has been chosen to simulate the pH of stomach fluid. The clays show the following order: Bentonite > attapulgite > kaolin, for their activity to adsorb cephalexin.H2O. The charged clay particles can attract molecules either by electrostatic forces, for the molecules of oppositely charged, or by inducing dipole formation in the neutral molecule. The L-shaped adsorption isotherm indicated that drug molecules arrangement in a flat geometry on the clay surface. The

coagulants was conducted. The main objective is to examine the efficiency of these
coagulants in the treatment of dye polluted water discharged from Al-Kadhymia Textile
Company (Baghdad-Iraq). The performance of these coagulants was investigated through
jar test by comparing dye percent removal at different wastewater pH, coagulant dose,
and initial dye concentration. Results show that alum works better than PAC under acidic
media (5-6) and PAC works better under basic media (7-8) in the removal of both solar
brown and direct black dyes. Higher doses of PAC were required to achieve the
maximum removal efficiency under optimum pH co
The present study investigated the use of pretreated fish bone (PTFB) as a new surface, natural waste and low-cost adsorbent for the adsorption of Methyl green (MG, as model toxic basic dye) from aqueous solutions. The functional groups and surface morphology of the untreated fish bone (FB) and pretreated fish bone were characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), respectively. The effect of operating parameters including contact time, pH, adsorbent dose, temperature, and inorganic salt was evaluated. Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin adsorption isotherm models were studied and the results showe
