Adsorption of Mefenamic Acid From Water by Bentonite Poly urea formaldehyde Composite Adsorbent

Poly urea formaldehyde –Bentonite (PUF-Bentonite) composite was tested as new adsorbent
for removal of mefenamic acid (MA) from simulated wastewater in batch adsorption
procedure. Developed a method for preparing poly urea formaldehyde gel in basic media by
using condensation polymerization. Adsorption experiments were carried out as a function of
water pH, temperature, contact time, adsorbent dose and initial MA concentration .Effect of
sharing surface with other analgesic pharmaceuticals at different pH also studied. The
adsorption of MA was found to be strongly dependent to pH. The Freundlich isotherm model
showed a good fit to the equilibrium adsorption data. From Dubinin–Radushkevich model the
mean free energy (E) was calculated and the value of 5 KJ/mole indicated that the main
mechanism governing the adsorption of MA on PUF-Bentonite composite was physical in
nature. The kinetics of adsorption tested for first order, pseudo second order models and
Elovich’s equation, results showed the adsorption followed the pseudo-second-order model.

Abstract<p>Poly aniline-formaldehyde/chitosan composite (PAFC) was prepared by the in situ polymerization method. It was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy in addition to SEM, EDS and TGA techniques. The adsorption kinetics of malachite green dye (MG) on (PAFC) were studied for various initial concentrations (20, 30 and 40) mg/L at three temperatures (308, 313 and 318) K. Interactions Investigation of New Composite Material Formed from Bauxite and Melamine-Urea Formaldehyde Copolymer

In this study the Bauxite has been activated and used to prepare two complexes: Bauxite - urea and Bauxite - melamine, these complexes were merged and polymerized with formaldehyde to prepare the complex Bauxite polymer - urea - melamine - formaldehyde (modified Bauxite). Removal of Methyl Orange From Aqueous Solution By Iraqi Bentonite Adsorbent

 The adsorption behavior of methyl orange from aqueous solution on Iraqi bentonite was investigated. The effects of various parameters such as initial concentration of methyl orange, amount of adsorbent, ionic strength and temperature on the adsorption capacity has been studied. The percentage removal of methyl orange increased with the decrease of initial concentration of methyl orange and it increased with the increase of dose of adsorbent. The adsorbed amount of methyl orange decrease with increasing ionic strength and an increase in temperature. The adsorption isotherms can be well described using the Freundlich and Temkin equations.
