Effect of Mercury Exposure on the Non Enzymatic Defense System in Workers
...Show More Authors

The role of free radical generation and lipid peroxidation in most diseases as a scientific explanation for development and destractivc process in biological tissues is confirmed.  In this study, an attempt to shed   li ght  on   the  possible  rel ation  between  some  biochemical parameters as a marker lor antioxidant in sera of (40)workers in  the ticld of mercury was investigated. The workers were divided into two

Group A                        Occupation period <I 0

C'TTOllj:) B                                  -            >10

GroupC    Healthy control, non exposed to Hg

Some non- enzymatic anuox1dant were mvest•gated in sera of all subjects included in the study (i.e. vit A, Vit C, and Vit E) using HPLC technique, MDA was determined and used as a biochemical marker of LPO(Lipid Pcroxidiation) .

The results indicate lower levels of all vitamins in sera of workers compared to control group. An elevation of MDA was recorded in all workers compared with healthy contwls. The destructive role of free radicals to human organize was confirmed , also leads to imbalance between antioxidants and LPO due to mercury exposure which positively correlate with duration of industrial occupation.

The effect of using cognitive strategies on mathematical competence among Fourth Scientific students
...Show More Authors

The research aims to find out the impact of cognitive strategies in the mathematical competence of the students of the fourth scientific in the preparatory mahmoudiyah in the Directorate General of The Education of Karkh 2. A post-test of the mathematical competence prepared by (Jassim, 2018) was applied to the sample of (65) students, distributed into two groups of (33) students as experimental group and (32) students as a control group. The results found there are significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in testing the mathematical competence of students for the experimental group.

The Effect of Micro and Nano Material on Critical Heat Flux (CHF) Enhancement
...Show More Authors

The Nano materials play a very important role in the heat transfer enhancement. An experimental investigation has been done to understand the behaviors of nano and micro materials on critical heat flux. Pool boiling experiments have used for several concentrations of nano and micro particles on a 0.4 mm diameter nickel chrome (Ni-Cr) wire heater which is heated electrically at atmospheric pressure. Zinc oxide(ZnO) and silica(SiO2) were used as a nano and micro fluids with concentrations (0.01,0.05,0.1,0.3,0.5,1 g/L), a marked enhancement in CHF have been shown in the results for nano and micro fluids for different concentrations compared to distilled water. The deposition of the nano particles on the heater surface was the rea

STUDY OF TEMPERATURE EFFECT ON THE HARDNESS FOR EPOXY RESIN AND UNSATURATED POLYESTER
...Show More Authors

This search aim to measure Hardness for Epoxy resin and for unsaturated Polyester resin as base materials for composite Hybrid and the materials used is Hybrid fiber Carbon-Kevlar. The Hand Lay-up method was used to manufacture plates of Epoxy resin (EP) and unsaturated Polyester EP,UPE backed by Hybrid fiber (Carbon-Kevlar) and with small volume fraction 5,10 and 15 for every there are Layer of fibers (1,2 and 3). The hardness test was count for material EP, UPE resin and there composites and that we notice that the Hardness (HB) decreased with increase of temperatures.

Study the effect of Lysostaphin, on methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus( MRSA) biofilm formation
...Show More Authors

This study included collection of 100 specimens from patients in AL-Kindy Teaching Hospital and teaching laboratories of Medical City Hospitals in Baghdad during the period from August to December 2012 ,these specimens differed in their sources which included 19 nasal swab, 16 wound swab,27 burn swab, 7 pus, 15 sputum, 10 corneal swab and 6 urine . Only 38 (38%) isolates was identified as Staphylococcus. In this study, 29 isolates (76.3%) were coagulase-positive (COPS), while only 9 isolates(23.6%) were coagulase negative (CONS), from total 38 isolates of Staphylococci.
The distribution of Methicillin resistance among Staphylococcus spp. was investigated by disc diffusion method. In this study, 21 isolates (55.26%) showed resistant to

Effect of Fe2O3 Nanoparticles Dust on the D.C Plasma Characteristics with Mirror Magnetron
...Show More Authors

In this paper, the effect of iron oxide nanoparticles dust (Fe2O3 NPs) on the parameters of DC electric discharge plasma under vacuum in argon gas was studied with the presence of a mirror magnetron behind the electrodes (cathode and anode) at constant pressure and with different amounts of Fe2O3 nanoparticles. Calculations presented a reduction of the plasma emission intensity with the NPs content. Both the plasma density (calculated by Stark's broadening method) and the mean electron temperature (calculated using Boltzmann's equation) decreased with increasing the Fe2O3 nanoparticles dust content, which indicates clearly the effect of dust density on restricting

Study of Reactivity Effect on Reactor Power by Using the Neutronic- Thermohydrolic Coupling
...Show More Authors

The study deals with reactivity insertion linear and non linear and/or Ramp reactivity expressed as a polynomial in time in the presence of two Feedback mechanisms, using the neutronic-thermohydraulic coupling in order to predict the neutron behavior as a function of time in terms of reactor power. Also, a comparative study has been achieved in the case of the presence of the feedback mechanisms. Insertion of Ramp reactivities in terms of polynomial in time to study the behavior of power and reactivity as a function of time in the presence of two feedback mechanisms (fuel and coolant) has been carried out and the results are displayed as plots, and showed this results corresponding with international results. The present study shows t

The Effect of Nickel, Vanadium, Asphaltene, NSO and Sulfur on Crude Oil Quality
...Show More Authors

The Mishrif reservoir (Cenomanian - Turonian) in the Z, H, B and N oilfields in southern Iraq was investigated to clarify how nickel, vanadium, asphaltene, NSO and sulfur content affect the crude oil quality. The GC-Mass and ICP-MS analyses were used to provide fruitful hydrocarbon results. Classification of crude oil based on API gravity broadly indicates the oil's density and general properties. Typically, lighter crude oils are easier to refine, yield higher percentages of valuable products such as gasoline and diesel, and have a higher market value. Heavier crude oils require more processing and may yield more residual products, such as heavy fuel oil and asphalt. The Mishrif crude oil was classified as a medium sour crude oil c

Restrained Edges Effect on the Dynamics of Thermoelastic Plates under Different End Conditions
...Show More Authors

Frequency equations for rectangular plate model with and without the thermoelastic effect for the cases are: all edges are simply supported, all edges are clamped and two opposite edges are clamped others are simply supported.   These were obtained through direct method for simply supported ends using Hamilton’s principle with minimizing Ritz method to total energy (strain and kinetic) for the rest of the boundary conditions. The effect of restraining edges on the frequency and mode shape has been considered. Distributions temperatures have been considered as a uniform temperature the effect of developed thermal stresses due to restrictions of ends conditions on vibration characteristics   of a plate with different
