This study describes the preparation of a new bidentate Schiff base derived from the condensation of Isatin-3-hydrazone with 2-acetylthiophene and the preparation of new series of complexes with a good yield. The New Schiff base ligand 4,4'-[(1,1'-Biphenyl)-4,4'-diyl,bis-(azo)-bis-[2-Salicylidene thiosemicarbazide](HL)(BASTSC)and its complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, electronic, FTIR, magnetic susceptibility measurements.
