A new ligand type (O₂) [2,3-O-diacetyl-5,6-O-benzylidene L- ascorbic acid] [L] and its complexes of general formula [M(L)₂(X)(Y)]Cl_n (where: M=Cr^III ,X=Y=H₂O, n=3; Co^II, X = Y = 0, n= 2; Ni^II and Cu^II, X = Cl, Y = H₂O, n= 1; Zn^II, X = Y = H₂O,n = 2) are reported. The ligand was prepared in two steps; first step involved the synthesis of [5,6-O-benzylidene-L-ascorbic acid] (A). The aim of this work is to evaluate some mechanical and physical
properties (i.e. the impact strength, hardness, flexural strength,
thermal conductivity and diffusion coefficient) of
(epoxy/polyurethane) blend reinforced with nano silica powder (2%
wt.). Hand lay-up technique was used to manufacture the composite
and a magnetic stirrer for blending the components. Results showed
that water had affected the bending flexural strength and hardness,
while impact strength increased and thermal conductivity decreased.
