The effect of increasing the volume of debt on the volume of trading (applied research on a sample of private banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange)
...Show More Authors

This research worked on identifying the effect of increasing the volume of indebtedness by companies listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange on the trading volume of those companies, and this research included some theoretical concepts related to both debt financing and trading volume, and it represents the research community of the joint-stock companies listed in The Iraq Stock Exchange (the banking sector). As for the research sample, it was deliberately chosen represented by companies with continuous trading without stopping, which reached 10 joint-stock companies, and the period of research was extended during the period 2011-2015, and a set of indicators and financial methods were used In measuring research variables.

The research showed several results through which several conclusions were reached, including: (1) The existence of a strong correlation with significant moral significance between the increase in the proportion of debt size and the trading volume in the Iraqi Stock Exchange, which gives importance to controlling the size of the debt in increasing circulation of companies' shares in the market The Iraqi financial system At the end of the research, a number of recommendations were reached, including Proper planning for the borrowing process must be developed through a study and evaluation of the financial structure in order to determine the optimal ratios of debt that can be used to achieve a positive impact on the volume of trading. Prospect of CW Raman Laser in Silicon- on- Insulator Nano-Waveguides
...Show More Authors

Numerical analysis predicts that continuous-wave (CW) Raman lasing is possible in Silicon-On-insulator (SOI) nano-waveguides, despite of presence of free carrier absorption. The scope of this paper lies on lasers for communication systems around 1550 nm wavelength. Two types of waveguide structures Strip and Rib waveguides have been incorporated. The waveguide structures have designed to be 220 nm in height. Three different widths of (350, 450, 1000) nm were studied. The dependence of lasing of the SOI Raman laser on effective carrier lifetime was discussed, produced by tow photon absorption. At telecommunication wavelength of 1550 nm, Raman lasing threshold was calculated to be 1.7 mW in Rib SOI waveguide with dimen

Spam Filtering Approach based on Weighted Version of Possibilistic c-Means
...Show More Authors

A principal problem of any internet user is the increasing number of spam, which became a great problem today. Therefore, spam filtering has become a research fo-cus that attracts the attention of several security researchers and practitioners. Spam filtering can be viewed as a two-class classification problem. To this end, this paper proposes a spam filtering approach based on Possibilistic c-Means (PCM) algorithm and weighted distance coined as (WFCM) that can efficiently distinguish between spam and legitimate email messages. The objective of the formulated fuzzy problem is to construct two fuzzy clusters: spam and email clusters. The weight assignment is set by information gain algorithm. Experimental results on spam based benchmark

Community Perception on Smart Engagement: Case of Kubang Pasu Local Government
...Show More Authors

Implementing smart community engagement should consider careful planning and collaboration with numerous stakeholders, including the community. The technology and program must be designed to frame its purpose and should link back to specific goals of implementing smart community engagement. Digital services do not guarantee a smart engagement between the community and the local government. This is the case for the Kubang Pasu local government where several online services have been provided in their attempt to implement the smart community concept. However, understanding on the preferences of features and requirements of existing web-based systems and the impact of these systems is lacking. Therefore, a perception study needs to be condu

Cloud-based Voice Home automation System Based on Internet of Things
...Show More Authors

The rapid development of automation industries and technologies has shown incredible prospects for transforming our homes into a smart home automation system, which are more secure than a simple home. This paper proposes a home application based on voice and text called the Automated Control and Monitoring System (ASCM). This application can be utilized by both normal and vision-impaired people by using with a mobile phone.

The application allows users to send voice commands through Google Assistant installed on Android to control the appliances. They can also have complete monitoring by logging onto the ThingSpeak dashboard, which displays a device status indicator and sends alert messages in the event of dang

Removal of dyes from polluted water by adsorption on maize cob
...Show More Authors

This research aimed to examine the effect of concentration of dyes stuff, contact time, temperature and ratio of adsorbent weight in (gm) to volume of solution in (ml) on the percentage removal. Two dyes were used; direct blue 6 and direct yellow and the adsorbent was the maize cob. Batch experiments were performed by contacting different weights of adsorbent with 50 ml of solution of desired concentration with continuous stirring at various temperatures. The percentage of removal was calculated and the maximum percentage of removal was 80%. And as the concentration of solution, contact time, temperature and the ratio of adsorbent to volume of solution increase the percentage of removal increase.

Analysis of structural concrete bar members based on secant stiffness methods
...Show More Authors

In this paper, the behavior of structural concrete linear bar members was studied using numerical model implemented in a computer program written in MATLAB. The numerical model is based on the modified version of the procedure developed by Oukaili. The model is based on real stress-strain diagrams of concrete and steel and their secant modulus of elasticity at different loading stages. The behavior presented by normal force-axial strain and bending moment-curvature relationships is studied by calculating the secant sectional stiffness of the member. Based on secant methods, this methodology can be easily implemented using an iterative procedure to solve non-linear equations. A comparison between numerical and experimental data, illustrated

Impact of chronic hepatitis B virus infection on bone mineral density
...Show More Authors

Background: Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a common health problem that has a worldwide distribution. Apart from the direct effect of the virus on the liver, there are many extrahepatic manifestations among which the probable effect on bone turnover associated with low bone mineral density (BMD). Objectives: This study aimed to determine the association between treated and untreated chronic HBV infection with BMD. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study which included a total of 48 patients with chronic HBV (28 patients treated with tenofovir-disoproxil-fumarate [TDF] antiviral drug and 20 patients have not yet started treatment). Other age- and sex-matched 30 apparently healthy individuals were recruited to represent the hea

Apoptotic Activity of methionine γ- lyase on several cancer cell lines
...Show More Authors

The apoptotic activity of methionine γ- lyase from Pseudomonas putida on cancer cell lines was indicated by measuring the concentration of cytochrome c in the supernatants of cell lines. The result revealed high concentration of cytochrome c in the supernatants of cancer cell lines (RD, AMGM and AMN3) respectively while the concentration of anti-apoptotic protein (Bcl-2) was very low.

Chemiluminescence Study of High Power Microwave Pulses Effects on Whole Blood
...Show More Authors

Chemiluminescenc (CL), light emitted during chemical reaction, is one of the accurate methods used to detect directly oxygen free radicals. In this study, luminol was used as CL detector, to detect the concentration of free radicals formed in whole blood exposed to high power microwave pulses. The changes in the intensity of CL signal gives a clear relation between the concentration of free radicals formed by radiation in blood and changes in blood properties such as hemolysis of blood cells. This is done by measuring the electrical sytoplsimic electrical properties, the results are substituted in Maxwell-Wagner equation, to obtain electrical conductivity of cytoplasm, which is 18.3   ms/cm, while at suspension med

On Controllability of Impulsive Fractional Integro-differential Nonlocal System with State
...Show More Authors

This paper is concerned with the controllability of a nonlinear impulsive fractional integro-differential nonlocal control system with state-dependent delay in a Banach space. At first, we introduce a mild solution for the control system by using fractional calculus and probability density function. Under sufficient conditions, the results are obtained by means of semigroup theory and the Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the main results.
