The present study was designed to find the relation between oxidative stress and
pregnancy. The study used one hundred twenty volunteers (ninety pregnant women
and thirty non-pregnant women). Then pregnant women were divided to three
subgroups according to trimester (first trimester, second trimester and third
trimester). then, some oxidative stress factors (MDA, GSH, catalase and TAC) were
measurement. Biochemical tests showed significant (P<0.05) increase in
malonedialdehyied (MDA) and significant (P<0.05) decrease in Glutathione (GSH),
Catalase (CAT) and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) in pregnant women compared

The study society consisted of 230 male and femalesocial studiesteachers’ subjects for the sixth primary grade in Al-Anbar General Directorate of Education. 160 of them were selected to represent the sample of the study with a percent of (70%) from the original society.       In this study, the CR-39 detector technique was used, to estimate the uranium concentration from the soil in midland refineries Company (Doura refine (, Baghdad, Iraq. Uranium concentrations in soil samples have been measured using solid state nuclear track detector type CR-39.  Nine soil samples were collected from different areas within the Doura refinery and other soil samples were collected form Abu Tayara Street and ALshortaa District outside the refinery for comparison.
