complications of patients admitted at this unit and determine the relationship between nurses' sociodemographic
characteristics and their practices.
Methodology: A descriptive study was carried out at Respiratory Care Unit at Baghdad teaching hospitals that
started from February 22th, 2013 to August 30th, 2013. A purposive "non-probability" sample of (70) nurses who

The selective method was performed by the reduction of NIF nitro group to yield primary amino group using zinc powder with hydrochloric acid. The produced aromatic amine was submitted to oxidative coupling reaction with pyrocatechol and ammonium ceric nitrate to form orange color product measured spectrophotometrically with maximum absorption at 467nm. Biodegradation is utilizing microorganisms to degrade materials into products that are safe for the
environment, such as carbon dioxide, water, and biomass. The current study aims to isolate and characterize
bacteria with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) degradation ability isolated from Shatt al-Arab water and
sewage from Basra, the bacteria were identified as Klebsiella pneumonia. According to the findings, the
isolates showed a highly significant difference in degradation of PET (24% during 7 days) and the percent of

In this study, new heterocyclic compounds were synthesized through the cyclization reactions of o-phenylenediamine (1) with various organic reagents. Benzodiazepine derivatives (2-4) were obtained by reaction of (1) with ethylacetoacetate, malonic acid and acetyl acetone.Treatment of compound (1) with chloroacetamide, chloroacetic acid, p-bromophenacyl bromide and oxalic acid dihydrate afforded quinoxaline derivatives (5-8), respectively. Reaction of compound (1) with benzoic acid, piperonal, cyclohexanone and carbon disulfide resulted in the formation of compounds (9-12), respectively. Finally, reaction of compound (12) with chloroacetic acid in the presence of potassium hydroxide produced compound (13).
