Orphans and Families of Martyrs of Terrorism Expert System-OFMTES
...Show More Authors

The increasing number of orphans and their organizations and institutes in our community makes it increasingly important to design and develop an expert system that supports decisions concerning orphans and their families. This system can be used by any orphans organization to facilitate its work.
The proposed work is designed to manage the Orphans and Families of Martyrs of Terrorism Expert System (OFMTES) by registry all information about all orphans to display mostly orphan deserves bill, data is entered for each orphan, and with each entry a counter is increased according to this input information; the output result represents the score for that orphan. Different orphans have different scores. Coloring is used to know the degree of orphans merit; that is, when background color of that text is red this means that the orphan does not deserve bill, when the color is yellow this means that the orphan deserves bill but in little ratio, when the color is blue this means that the orphan deserves bill but in more ratio from blue, and when the color is green this orphan is mostly deserves bill.
The program was implemented using Microsoft office access 2003 and visual basic programming language, and can be executed using Pentium two or more computer.
Keywords: Expert system, knowledge engineering, decision support system, Knowledge Representation, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.

Historical Paths and the Growth of Baghdad Old Center
...Show More Authors

Urban growth of cities is connected with three related problems, the first one, is the deterioration of the center, which is a mark for historical origin. The second is the emergence of city edge, which contradicts by the center. The third one is the rapid semi urbanism of the edge. Literature review showed that Baghdad historical center (Old Rusafa and Karkh) had grown in four morphological stages, during which main paths had been changed from those which were perpendicular to the river front to those parallel to it. Research problem is that “there is a knowledge gap about the direction and origin of paths within Baghdad old center, after its growth”. The first research hypothesis is, “the direction of paths within old Baghdad cen

Preparation and Characterization of AgNp/PVDF Cmposite Ultrafiltration Membrane
...Show More Authors

In this study, polymeric ultrafiltration (UF) membranes were prepared by phase inversion method to obtain both antibacterial and organic antifouling properties. The membranes were cast from a solution of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and formative silver (Ag) nanoparticles were successfully immobilized on a polymer. This was done using a solvent N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) which is a solvent for the PVDF polymer meanwhile it is a reducing agent for silver ion. The effect of silver nanoparticles additives on the performance of polymeric ultrafiltration membrane was verified. Chemical composition and morphology of the surfaces of the membranes were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy

Formulation and Characterization of Felodipine as an Oral Nanoemulsions
...Show More Authors

Felodipine is a calcium-channel blocker with low aqueous solubility and bioavailability. Lipid dosage forms are attractive delivery systems for such hydrophobic drug molecules. Nanoemulsion (NE) is one of the popular methods that has been used to solve the dispersibility problems of many drugs. Felodipine was formulated as a NE utilizing oleic acid as an oil phase, tween 80 and tween 60 as surfactants and ethanol as a co-surfactant. Eight formulas were prepared, and different tests were performed to ensure the stability of the NEs, such as particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, dilution test, drug content, viscosity and in-vitro drug release. Sustainability reporting and corporate reputation of Malaysian IPO companies
...Show More Authors

The aim of this paper is to explore the relationship between sustainability reporting (SR) and corporate reputation (CR) in the context of initial public offering (IPO) companies in the developing market of Malaysia. This study utilises secondary data from 2007 to 2017 derived from the content analysis of the annual reports and Datastream of 139 sampled IPO companies listed on Bursa Malaysia. The study also employs ordinary least squares (OLS) regression. The result shows that CR has a positive association with SR quantity and quality and its dimensions, i.e., society, environmental, employee, and product. This result suggests that IPO companies can use SR practices to improve their CR. Most companies give little attention to SR issues. Mor

Experimental and numerical analysis of electrical metal foam heater
...Show More Authors

A novel concept of air heater using a heating element made from Aluminum metal porous disc surrounded by a DC resistive electrical heater inserted in the mid-plane of a copper tube of (52.8 mm) diameter and (480 mm) length is presented herein. Study of the developed heater is conducted; using different porous disc thicknesses of (20, 40, 60 mm), heater wall temperatures (106 °C and 119 °C), and flow rates rare varied from (100–300 L/min). Al-metal foam disc has been made using the metal powder technology. Different resistive electrical heaters according to the type of porous disc used have been manufactured. A 2-D computational model is developed, using continuity, momentum, and energy equations for turbulent forced flow in plain tube,

ON THE SPATIAL AND SEASONAL VARIATIONS OF HEAVY METALS OF THE RAZZAZAH LAKE, IRAQ
...Show More Authors

Five heavy metals, namely Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, and Pb in the surface water and through the water column were studied at 10 selected stations in the Razzazah lake and Karbala drainage canal for the period between November 1990 to October 1991*. pH and total hardness were also measured. Lead was found to be the highest in concentration as overall average values, followed by an manganese, iron, copper then cadmium at the surface as well as along the water column. All the studied metals were below or close to the maximum allowed limits of Iraqi standards for inland water. The spatial and seasonal variations were discussed.

Effects of Water Table Level on Slope Stability and Construction Cost of Highway Embankment
...Show More Authors

Highway embankments stability during its service period represents an important factor for the safety of highway users and vehicles. Consequently, the cost of construction of these embankments should be adequate to maintain the safety and durability during this period through proper estimation of the loading on asphalt pavement, slope stability, horizontal and vertical deformation, etc. Slope stability of the embankment mainly depends on the shear strength of the soil layers materials; this shear strength is affected by the water table level through the contribution of the capillary water. Negative pore water pressure above the water table level evolves matric suction in the unsaturated zone above water table; this matric suction increases

The Effect of CdCl2 and annealing treatments on structural properties of CdS/CdTe heterojunction
...Show More Authors

CdS and CdTe thin films were thermally deposited onto glass substrate. The CdCl2 layer was deposited onto CdS surface. These followed by annealing for different duration times to modify the surface and interface of the junction. The diffraction patterns showed that the intensity of the peaks increased with the CdCl2/annealed treatment, and the grain sizes are increased after CdCl2/annealed treatment
