Background The escalating global concern over increased body weight in adolescents, coupled with the rising rates of adolescent pregnancy worldwide, presents a significant challenge to healthcare systems. We plan to identify the maternal and neonatal consequences associated with pre-pregnancy overweight in adolescent women. Methods Throughout five years, all singleton adolescent pregnant women with pre-pregnancy self-reported body mass index (BMI) of 18.5– ≤ 29.9 were involved during the first-trimester visit. Two groups were generated: overweight and appropriate-weight (BMI 25–29.9 and 18.5–24.9, respectively). Obstetric and neonatal outcomes were observed prospectively and statistically adjusted for the confounding factors.

In this paper, a single-phase boost type ac-dc converter with power factor correction (PFC) technique is designed and implemented. A current mode control at a constant switching frequency is used as a control strategy for PFC converter. The PFC converter is a single-stage singleswitch boost converter that uses a current shaping technique to reshape the non-sinusoidal input current drawn by the bulky capacitor in the conventional rectifier. Aim: is to report a case of trans-oral pin, penetrating base of skull and upper cervical region, which is rarely reported in the literatures and to compare it with other studies reporting similar case.
Patients Methods: the details, the presentation, both clinical and radiological finding, and surgical approach of such a case are presented.
Results: the diagnosis was verified with plain x-rays and C.T. scan with bone study. Surgery was conducted under G.A., the patient was recovered well without neurological deficit.
Conclusion: meticulous and close pre-operative care with safe operator and careful fellow up is mandatory. Surgery only offers the best chance of care.
