The research was limited to the teachers of the kindergartens in Baghdad ( Rusafa – Karkh ) in 2009 - 2010 . The sample included 160 teachers and 160 children. The researcher selected 10% from the kindergartens in each directorate on Rusafa and Karkh randomly. The researcher selected 10 teachers (guiders) intentionally from each selected kindergarten. The researcher made sure of exiting the question by questionnaire distributed on the schoolmasters of the kindergartens and children's families. The current study examined the effect of different sample sizes to detect the Item differential functioning (DIF). The study has used three different sizes of the samples (300, 500, 1000), as well as to test a component of twenty polytomous items, where each item has five categories. They were used Graded Response Model as a single polytomous item response theory model to estimate items and individuals’ parameters. The study has used the Mantel-Haenszel (MH) way to detect (DIF) through each case for the different samples. The results of the study showed the inverse relationship between the sample size and the number of items, which showed a differential performer.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the bacterial count and heavy metal concentration of river water on fish micronuclei. Fish and water samples are carried out in 1 May to 1 June 2013 from Tigris River. A total of fifty three fish sample are studied. The bacteriological quality of water showed that the total viable count is ranged from 150×103 to 352×103 cfu/ml and fecal coliform counts was 1250 cell/100ml during the study period. All the metals (Cu, Hg, Pb, and Zn) are within the normal limit, but Cd was slightly elevated in river water samples.
