Background: Chronic kidney disease is a worldwide health problem, with adverse outcomes of cardiovascular disease and premature death, can be divided into five stages, depending on how severe the damage is to the kidneys, or the level of decrease in kidney function, the final stage of chronic kidney disease is called end-stage renal disease, salivary immunoglobulin A is the main immunoglobulin found in mucous secretions, including tears, saliva, colostrum and secretions from the genitourinary tract gastrointestinal tract, prostate and respiratory epithelium . It is also found in small amounts in blood. This study aimedto measuresalivary flow rate and salivaryimmunoglobulin Alevels in chronic kidney disease patients on hemodialysis treatment in comparison with healthy control subjects. Materials and Methods: Ninety (90) subjects were participated in this study; 45 Patients undergoing hemodialysis with chronic kidney diseases; 45 health control subjects. Saliva collected was measured and levels of salivary immunoglobulin A were measured by Enzyme Link Immunosorbent Assay (Elisa). Results:The present studyrevealed that the mean value of salivary flow rate in chronic kidney disease patients was (0.34 ± 0.19) ml/min, while for healthy control subjects was (1.02 ± 0.39) ml/min, there wasstatisticallysignificantly decrease in salivary flow rate ofchronic kidney disease on hemodialysis patients as compared to control healthy subjects. The present study revealed that the (Mean±SD) of the immunoglobulin A in chronic kidney disease patients on hemodialysis (388.81±227.86) µg./ml, while in control group (273.98±155.89) µg./ml, the result revealed statistically significant increase in chronic kidney disease patients on hemodialysis as compared to control subjects. Conclusions: Salivary immunoglobulin (IgA) reflects the functional capacity of the glands. Increased concentration of this component is usually marker of a poor general condition.
Levetiracetam (LEV) is new antiepileptic drugs (AEDs), usually used with other drugs in case of inadequate control of seizures. It is usually discharge with the breast milk. This study was conducted for the evaluation of the effect of levetiracetam on the kidney after 3 and 7 day newborn albino rats (Rattus rattus). A total of 20 rats were taken which were divided into two groups (A/control and B/ treated). The rat pregnant group (A) represents control group which has given distilled water orally during the pregnancy period and continued in taking of till one week newborn and (B) represents treated groups the drug was administered (350 mg/kg/day) orally during the pregnancy period and continued in taking of drug till one week newborn. Thirty pregnant rats were enrolled, which were divided into two groups A control (10), B treated (20). Group (A) were given distilled water orally for 15 days of pregnancy period. The other group was subdivided into two subgroups B1, B2 (each with 10 rats), which were treated with LEV for 14 days for subgroup (B1) and 15 days for the other subgroup (B2). The drug (350 mg/kg/day) is administered orally. Based on our results there was damage in the kidney due to the toxicity of the drug. The histopathological effects is represented

It was also used with the system the mobile device FH-40 which measures the radiation dose rates in units μSμ/h the measurement results showed the absence of a significant increase in the U-238 and Th-232 concentration where the concentration of isotopes of U-238 and natural Th-232 (3.35-5.46) ppm respectively it is authorized and universally accepted. In terms of radiation dose rates it ranged betwe

Glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) is a form of haemoglobin used to identify the average concentration of plasma glucose over prolonged periods of time. It is formed in a non-enzymatic pathway by normal exposure of hemoglobin to high levels of plasma glucose, The main alterations observed in the saliva of Type 1 diabetic patients are hyposalivation and alteration in its composition, particularly those related to the levels of glucose. The aim of the present study was to assess the effect of Glycated haemoglobin level on the level of salivary glucose which may have an effect on oral health condition. Materials and methods

The current study aimed to evaluate oxytocin (OT), prolactin (PRL), cortisol and insulin growth factor-2 (IGF-2) levels as physiological biomarkers; programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1), programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-L1),interleukin-6 (IL-6) as immunological biomarkers, and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs; rs53576 and rs2254298) of oxytocin receptor gene OXTR as molecular factors in samples of Iraqi women undergoing caesarean section (CS) and normal delivery (ND). Blood samples were collected from 96 pregnant women at term with ages ranging between 16-43 years. Regarding

Comparisons between the mentioned estimation methods has been performed using statistical indicator mean squares error, concluding that the estimation of the survival function for the lung cancer by using pre-test singles stage shrinkage estimator method was the best . <

Objective(s): A descriptive study aimed to determine nurses' knowledge about chest physiotherapy techniques for patients with Corona virus disease and observe the relationship between nurses' knowledge and their socio-demographic characteristics.
Methodology: The study was directed in isolation units of Al- Hussein teaching hospitals in Thi-Qar, Iraq for the period from June 1st, 2022 to November 27th, 2022. Non- probability (purposively) sample comprised 41 nurses. A questionnaire was used for data collection and it consists of two parts: the first part comprises socio demographic features, the second part includes self- administered questionnaire sheet wa

A biomarker that provides a quantitative measure of changes in the brain due to AD in the early stages would be useful for early diagnosis of AD, but this would involve dealing with large numbers of people because up to 50% of dementia sufferers do not receive formal diagnosis. Thus, there is a need for accurate, low-cost, and easy to use biomarkers that could be used to detect AD in its early stages. Potentially, electroencephalogram (EEG) based biomarkers can play a vital role in early diagnosis of AD as they can fulfill these needs. This is a cross-sectional study that aims to demon
