Background: Fluoridated acrylic resin material can present more stable properties when compared with conventional one.The most widely used fluoride –containing substance added to dental resin materials is sodium fluoride (Naf). This study evaluated the effect of Naf in different concentration to the acrylic resin denture base material and its effect on tensile strength ,modules of elasticity with long –term water immersion (after 4 months immersion in de-ionized water) Materials and methods: Eighty specimens from dumbbells shaped metal pattern for tensile strength test were preparedaccording to ISO 527: 1993 plastic –Determination tensile properties ,in dimensions(60mm, 12mm, 3 ± 0.2mm) length, width and depth respectively were allocated to two groups according to water immersion there were 40 specimens before immersion and 40 specimens after water immersion for 4 months in de-ionized water(the de-ionized water was changed every day),these two groups were sub divided in to four groups according to the concentration of Naf,Naf powder were added to monomer of acrylic in concentrations of 1%,2%and 5% Naf .0% Naf(control group) ,then mixing were done with polymer according to manufacture instructions ,the conventional flasking ,packing procedure were used following that (fast cycle). For tensile strength test the measuring was done by Instron machine,the values of modulus of elasticity were obtained from tensile test . Results: Results showed that the addition of sodium fluoride to acrylic resin material werelower the tensile strength and modules of elasticity with highly significant differences p<0.01 when compared to control group regardless the concentration of Naf,But after immersion (for 4 month ) the tensile strength and modules of elasticity increased in comparison to groups before immersion (with highly significance differences p <0.01 ), highly significance differences (p <0.0)were found between groups after and before immersion in all concentrations except for tensile strength between 1%Naf and 2%Naf after immersion there was no significant differences(p>0.05), and for modules of elasticity between control and 1%Naf, 1% Naf and 2%Naf( after immersion ),there was only significant differences between them(p<0.05). Conclusions: Addition of fluoride to acrylic resin material lower the tensile strength and modules of elasticity when compared to control group regardless the concentration of Naf, But after immersion (for 4 months ) the tensile strength and modules of elasticity increased in comparison to groups before immersion (with highly significance differences p <0.01).
This study was performd on 50 serum specimens of patients with type 2 diabetes, in addition, 50 normal specimens were investigated as control group. The activity rate of LAP in patients (560.46 10.504) I.U/L and activity rate of LAP in healthy(10.58 4.39)I.U/L.The results of the study reveal that Leucine aminopeptidase (LAP) activity of type 2 diabetes patient s serum shows a high signifiacant increase (p < 0.001) compare to healthy subjects. The synthesis and properties of two new series of compounds having 1,3-Oxazepineand 1,3-thiazole rings connected through azo linkage are reported. These compounds weresynthesized by the reaction of phthalic anhydride with Schiff bases. The molecular structuresof these compounds were verified by elemental analysis, FTIR and 1HNMR spectroscopy.The mesomorphic behaviors of these compounds were studied by optical polarizedmicroscopy (OPM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The present study deals with Tigris River in Al-Dora site in Baghdad province from November 2014 to June 2015 in order to shed light on its epiphytic Algae on (Phragmites australis) and epipelic algae. An amount of 183 and 154 species of epiphytic and epipelic algae are identified respectfully. The Bacillariophyceae (diatoms) are the dominant algal group followed by Cyanophyceae and Chlorophyceae. Moreover, 90 species are shared between two groups of algae (epiphytic and epipelic) and identified at the study site. Viscosities (η) and densities (ρ) of atenolol and propranolol hydrochloride in water and in concentrations (0.05 M) and (0.1 M) aqueous solution of threonine have been used to reform different important thermodynamic parameters like apparent molal volumes fv partial molal volumes at infinite dilution fvo , transfer volume fvo (tr), the slop Sv , Gibbs free energy of activation for viscous flow of solution ΔG*1,2 and the B-coefficient have been calculated using Jones-Dole equation. These thermodynamic parameters have been predicted in terms of solute-solute and solute-solvent interaction.
The Red Palm Weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier, 1790) is a devastating invasive pest of palm trees, invading the Iraqi date palm tree in 2015 for the first time in Safwan county, Basrah province. The Red Palm weevil has been categorized as a quarantine pest of date palm trees worldwide. In this study, a five years monitoring program has been achieved by scouting the invasive pest RPW population in Safwan county by using visual sampling and Pheromone baited traps.
The results indicated that the number of infested palms, increased from 12 trees in 2015 to 111 in 16 orchards in 2016. The number of the infested palms was minimized to 3 trees in the county in 2019 due to the management protocol of the Ministry of Agriculture
