Background: Oral Lichen planus (OLP) is a T-cell mediated chronic inflammatory oral mucosal disease of unknown etiology. Recent studies have reported an increased oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation in such patients. This suggests that reactive oxygen species may have a role in the pathogenesis of lichen planus. Oxidative stress in OLP release molecules consisting of granzymes resulting in local tissue damage in the effectors. Antioxidants that can defend against oxidative stress in the body cells include enzymes, as well as non- enzymatic antioxidants, such as melatonin, uric acid, vitamin A and E. Purpose: To study the level of salivary vitamin E and uric acid as antioxidant agents in patients with OLP and compared with healthy control. Methods: Twenty five patients with OLP were enrolled in this study. Age, gender, occupation, smoking status (smokers or non-smokers), lesion types, duration, location and size were recorded for each patient. After an oral examination, salivary samples were collected and flow rates (ml/min) were recorded. The collected samples were centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 10 minutes; the clear supernatants were separated and stored frozen at (-20 c) until analysis. Then salivary vitamin E was investigated using ELISA kit based on bioten double antibody sandwich technology. Uric acid was analyzed using a proprietary enzymatic reaction mixture that enables the detection of uric acid by the production of a red chromogen, which is quantitatively measured at a wavelength of 515 or 520 nm. Results: The mean age of OLP patients was 48.3 years with a range of 30-60 years. Control group consisted of 35 healthy subjects who were age matched with OLP patients. Fourteen (56%) patients were with reticular and 11 (44%) were with erosive form, with the buccal mucosa was the most commonly affected site (88%), followed by tongue (8%) then gingiva (4%). A significantly lower salivary flow-rate, lower salivary vitamin E and uric acid level in OLP patients compared to control; while, no significant difference was seen between reticular and erosive type of OLP for both vitamin E and uric acid level. Regarding gender, no differences were found between males and females in salivary vitamin E. No significant correlation was found between vitamin E /uric acid and age. Similarly, no difference was found between males and females in uric acid. Conclusion: Salivary anti-oxidant markers represented by vitamin E and uric acid decreased in OLP patients due to increase oxidative stress which may have an important role in the pathogenesis. Thus, it is recommended to give OLP patients anti-oxidant agents that may either help in healing process or decreased the severity.
The current research variables have received increasing attention in the recent period because they are one of the important issues affecting the future of organizations, as a result of the speed of environmental variables that have greatly affected organizations and for the purpose of explaining the relationships and links between research variables, as this research presents a test "the type and direction of the relationship between strategic foresight capabilities As an independent variable and green creativity "as a respondent variable. A set of questions has arisen about the basic research problem, including what is the nature and level of interest in the research variables (strategic foresight capabilities an

The movement and broadening of foreign and European words into Persian is a topic within historical linguistics. Such changes are semantic, phonological
Since many of these European loanwords into Persian took a remarkable space within Persian dictionaries, and became an indispensible part of the language, a study of the original languages of these loanwords may identify the enormous effect of those languages upon Persian, being a receptor language, and may refer to the liveliness.
Among the important factors which helped the movement of various loanwords into Persian are:
- Geographical: this is seen via contact between Persian people and those neighboring people, specifically those speaking Ara
Introduction: The use of screw-retained hybrid arch bars (HABs) is a relatively recent development in the treatment of mandibular fractures. The purpose of this study is to compare the clinical outcome between HAB and the conventional Erich arch bar (EAB) in the closed treatment of mandibular fractures. Materials and methods: This study included 18 patients who were treated for mandibular fractures with maxillomandibular fixation (MMF), patients were randomly assigned into a control group (n = 10) in which EAB was used and study group (n = 8) in which HAB was used. The outcome variables were time required for application and removal, gingival inflammation scores, postoperative complications, and incidence of wire-stick injury or gloves perf

In some cases, soil strength and/or other properties are not adequate and require improvement using one of the ground improvement techniques. Stone column is one of the common improvement techniques in which a column of stone is installed vertically in clayey soils. Stone columns are usually used to increase soil strength and to accelerate soil consolidation by acting as vertical drains. Many researches have been done to estimate the behavior of the improved soil. However, none of them considered the effect of stone column geometry on the behavior of the circular footing. Resveratrol (RES), a polyphenolic stilbene, is known to control asthmatic attacks via different molecular mechanisms. However, no studies have examined the effect of resveratrol on the microbiome in the ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthma mouse model. In this study, we induced asthma in BALB/c mice by injecting OVA followed by 7 days treatment with RES. Plethysmography showed that the expiratory resistance in the lung tissue was significantly reduced in the RES treated group, while mean volume, peak expiratory flow, and frequency of respiration was increased. Abstract Objective: The objective of this study was to explore in-depth the impact of after-hours academic work at home on the wellbeing of college pharmacy faculty members. Methods: This qualitative study was conducted through face-to-face individual-based interview with faculty members at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad in Iraq. A purposive sampling was used to enroll faculty with different levels in their academic carrier. Interviews were conducted till reaching the point of saturation. The interviews were conducted from Nov 7 through December 6, 2023. All interviews were audio-recorded. Qualitative interview data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings: Twenty faculty members participated in the study: 16 have a P
