Background: The quantity and the quality of available bone, influence the clinical success of dental implants surgery. Cone beam Computed tomography is an established method for acquiring bone images before performing dental implant. Cone beam computed tomography is an essential tool for treatment planning and post-surgical procedure monitoring, by providing highly accurate 3-D images of the patient's anatomy from a single, low-radiation scan which yields high resolution images with favorable accuracy. The aim of study is the Measurement of alveolar bone (height and buccolingual width) and density in the mandible among Iraqi adult subject using CBCT for assessment of dental implant site dimensions. Material and method: The study sample include (60) Iraqi subjects (30 male and 30 females) aged between 20-65 years, sagittal view of Cone beam computed tomography was obtained to measure the height ,width and alveolar bone density of the mandibular anterior area, while coronal view was used to measure the height ,width and alveolar bone density assessment of the mandibular premolar and molar areas. Measurement of mandibular bony height and width was in(mm)and each of the three mandibular areas were represented by seven consecutive measurements for bony height and width and these seven stations were set using an average distance of 2 mm apart while the bone density in Hounsfield unit (HU) with point of measurement represent the mean of density to the area located between the height and buccolingual width. Results:The Statistical analysis of linear measurements of mandibular bone which include the bony height , width and density showed that the mean values of all three measurements are significantly higher in males than females also there was statistically significant difference in the mean bone density of mandibular areas which was highest in anterior area and lowest in the molar area followed by premolar area among both gender, mandibular bony height showed a statistically insignificant very weak negative linear correlation with age in all the three examined mandibular areas while the effect of age on bucolingual width was significantly higher among subjects older than 50 years compared to those younger than 50 years old. Conclusion: The mean bony height was highest in anterior area and lowest in premolar area followed by molar area, while the mean bony width was lowest in anterior area and highest in molar area followed by premolar area , finally the mean bone density was highest in anterior area and lowest in molar area followed by premolar area.
Background: The primary stability of the dental implant is a crucial factor determining the ability to initiate temporary implant-supported prosthesis and for subsequent successful osseointegration, especially in the maxillary non-molar sites. This study assessed the reliability of the insertion torque of dental implants by relating it to the implant stability quotient values measured by the Osstell device. Material and methods: This study included healthy, non-smoker patients with no history of diabetes or other metabolic, or debilitating diseases that may affect bone healing, having non-restorable fractured teeth and retained roots in the maxillary non-molar sites. Primary dental implant stability was evaluated using a torque ratc

However, sex differences in coronary artery calcium (CAC) and its role in the detection of coronary artery stenosis remain controversial. Objective: To assess the impact of sex variation on coronary artery calcification and its efficacy in predicting coronary artery stenosis. Methods: This is a cross-sectional observational study including 230 consecutive patients with suspected CAD (120 men and 110 women) referred for coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA). The study analyzed sex-based differences in the sensitivity and specificity of coronary artery calcification (CAC) for detecting moderate to severe stenosis across various coronary arteries

Objectives: To demonstrate CT abnormalities encountered in children with congenital deafness and to assess the value of CT in the prediction for cochlear implantation. Also to evaluate the incidence and types of inner ear abnormalities in children with congenital deafness identified with CT scan for implantation difficulties.
Patients & Methods: This is a cross sectional study carried out during the period from October 2009 to October 2010 at Baghdad medical city complex on children patients who are suffering from conge
Background: Recent implant surgical approach aims to cause less trauma, invasiveness and pain as much as possible and to reduce patient and surgeon discomfort, time of surgery and time needed for functional implant loading. Flapless surgical techniques considered recently as one of the most popular techniques that may achieve these aims especially enhancing osseointegration and subsequently implant stability within less time than the traditional flapped surgical technique. So this study aimed to make a comparison between flapped and flapless surgical techniques in resulted implant stability according to resonance frequency analysis RFA and in duration of surgical operation. Materials and methods: A total of 26 patients with 41 implants (o

Aim of the study: This study was conducted on group of internally displaced children living in Baghdad governorate camps to measure their dental caries prevalence and experience and find out the association between dental caries and the duration of displacement in camps. Subjects and methods: A sample of 1393 children were selected, 567 internally displaced children from camps in Baghdad governorate and 826 school children as control matching in age and gender. The age of children ranged from 5-12 years old. Oral examination was performed using WHO 2013 criteria, to

All laboratory tests were performed according to the standards of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). The test results showed that the range of soil water content wwas (13.89%-16.34%) with an average of 15.44%. The specific gravity range was (2.58-2.77) with an average of 2.66. The range of Liquid Limit LL was (26.20-35.20%) with an average of 32.22%.The range of Plastic Limit PL was (18.63-23.24%) with average of 21.06%. The purpose of present study was to compare wettability, tear strength and dimensional accuracy of three elastomeric impression materials, with the same consistencies (light-body). Three commercially available light body consistency and regular set 3M ESPE Express polyvinylsiloxane (PVS), 3M ESPE Permadyne polyether (PE), and Identium (ID), impression materials were comparedTear strength test, contact angle test and linear dimensional accuracy were evaluated for three elastic impression material. Methods: Sixty freshly extracted premolar teeth were prepared with a slot shaped cavities of a total of 120 Class II: 3mm (bucco-lingual), 2mm (mesio-distal) with mesial-gingival margin located 1mm coronal to CEJ, and distal gingival margin located 1mm apical to the CEJ. The samples were randomly divided into two main groups according to the restorative material (Tetric EvoCeram and 3M Filtek), and each group was further sub-divided into three subgroups according to the consistency (bulk fill, preheated bulk fil
