Background: the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different surface acids treatments (37%phospjoric acid, 5%hydrofluoric acid, 1.23 acidulated phosphate fluoride) of feldspathic ceramic VITA 3D MASTER , and the effect of thermocycling on shear bond strength using a ceramic repair kit (ivoclar/vivadent). Material and Methods: sixty Nickel-Chromium metal base plates were prepared(9mm diameter,3mm depth) using lost wax technique, 2mm thick layer of ceramic(VITA 3D MASTER) fused to metal plates, all specimens were embedded in acrylic resin blocks except their examined surfaces and divided into 3 main groups 20 specimens each, Grp A: treatment with 37%phosphoric acid for 2 mins, Grp B: etching with 5% hydrofluoric acid for 2mins, Grp C: etching with 1.23% acidulated phosphate fluoride for 10 mins; monobond-plus, heliobond, resin composite(Tetric EvoCeram) were applied to each specimen according to manufacturer's instruction using transparent split mold(5mm diameter, 4 mm height); specimens were stored in 37OC distilled water for 12 weeks, 10 specimens of each group were subjected to thermocycling between 5 oC and 55 o C for 800 cycles with 30s dwell time; shear bond strength was determined by a universal testing machine (instron 1122) at a cross head speed 0.5mm/min; One way ANOVA test, LSD test and student-t test were used to analyze shear bond strength. Results: Mean shear bond strength values for the tested groups were: A1= 11.65±0.68 Mpa, A2=10.88±0.58 Mpa, B1=17.93±0.41 Mpa, B2=17.42±0.35 Mpa, C1=15.17±0.61 Mpa, C2=14.51±0.48 Mpa ; one way ANOVA test showed highly significant difference among groups; LSD test revealed that the use of 5% HF for ceramic surface treatment(GB) was highly significant than the treatment with 37%PA(GA) or 1.23%APF(GC) respectively and the use of 1.23%APF(GC) was highly significant than the use of 37%PA(GA); Student t- test showed a significant difference between subgroups of the same group with and without thermocycling. Conclusion: ceramic surface treated with 5% HF acid for 2 mins recorded the highest shear bond strength, followed by surface treatment with 1.23% APF for 10 mins, most specimens treated with 5%HF showed cohesive failure with in ceramic while specimens treated with 1.23%AFP showed more (adhesive/cohesive) failure than adhesive or cohesive alone, and specimens treated with 37% PA showed nearly 50:50 adhesive and combination failure, thermocycling reduced the bond strength of each group significantly
Slurry infiltrated fibrous concrete (SIFCON) is a modern type of fibre reinforced concrete (FRC). It has unique properties; SIFCON is superior in compressive strength, flexural strength, tensile strength, impact resistance, energy absorption and ductility. Because of this superiority in these characteristics, SIFCON was qualified for applications of special structures, which require resisting sudden dynamic loads such as explosions and earthquakes. The main aim of this investigation is to determine the effect of fibre type on the apparent density of SIFCON and on performance under impact load. In this investigation, hook-end steel fibre and polyolefin fibre were used. Purely once and
The nanocompsite of alumina (Al2O3) produced a number of beneficial effects in alloys. There is increasing in resistance of materials to surface related failures , such as the mechanical properties , fatigue and stress corrosion cracking .The experimental results observed that the adding of reinforced nanomaterials type Al2O3 enhanced the HB hardness, UTS, 0.2 YS and ductility of 2014 Al/Al2O3 nano composites . the analysis of experiments, indicated that The maximum enhancement was observed at 0.4 wt.% Al2O3. The ultimate improvement percentage were 15.78% HB hardness, 18.1% (UTS), 12.86% (

The geopolymer mortar was developed using a variety of sustainable material proportions (fly ash and slag) to examine the influence of fibers on its strength. The fly ash weight percentage was 50%, 60%, and 70% by slag weight to study its effect on the geopolymer mortar's properties. The optimal ratio produced the most significant results when mixed at a 50:50 ratio of fly ash and slag with 1% micro steel fibers at curing temperature 240oC for 4 hours through two days. The compressive strength of the geopolymer mortar increas

Show MoreThe electrical performance of bottom-gate/top source-drain contact for p-channel organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) using poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) as an active semiconductor layer with two different gate dielectric materials, Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and Hafnium oxide (HfO2), is investigated in this work. The output and transfer characteristics were studied for HfO2, PVP and HfO2/PVP as organic gate insulator layer. Both characteristics show a high drain current at the gate dielectric HfO2/PVP equal to -0.0031A and -0.0015A for output and transfer characteristics respectively, this can be attributed to the increasing of the dielectric capacitance. Transcondactance characteristics also studied for the three organic mater

Since athletic training should not follow a single, monotonous pattern, the researchers adopted modern Boot camp exercises to develop special strength and biomechanical variables for female triple jump athletes. The study aimed to design Boot camp exercises specifically to enhance special strength and certain biomechanical indicators in young female triple jump athletes, and to identify the impact of these exercises on their performance. Ceramic wastes were collected from the Refractories Manufacturing Plant in Ramadi. Through a series of lab tests, the reaction time (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 minutes, and Ni concentrations (20, 40, 60, and 80) were tested using ceramic wastes with a solid to liquid ratio of 2g/30ml. At a temperature of 30ºC, the pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), and electrical conductivity (EC) were all measured. The equilibrium time was set at 30 min. Thereafter, the sorption (%) somewhat increased positively with the Ni concentration. Freundlich's equation showed that the adsorption intensity is 1.1827 and the Freundlich c
