The ceiling of the midbrain has a couple of optic lobes which are prominent and used as an optic center that reflex what it receives from eye retina fibers. The histology of optic tectum has been studied in Iraqi water snake natrix tesselata tesselata . It was found that the number of optic tectum were seven main strata organized from the outside to the inside as follows : the stratum zonula (SZ), the stratum opticum (SO), the stratum fibrosum et griseum superficialis (SFGS), the stratum griseum central (SGC), the stratum album central (SAC), the stratum griseum periventricular (SGP), and the stratum album periventricular (SAP). the three last strata consider deep layers on the optic tectum It was noticed that the thinnest strata was the first (SZ), which is (20-25)µ m, in its thickness, while the thickest strata was the third (SFGS), which is (150-180)µ m. this stratum consist of three substrata (a.b.c). it was found that the optic fibers that come from eye retina enter the optic tectum through the second stratum which is the (SO) . so these fibers go out from optic tectum through the sixth stratum which is the (AGP). the fourth (SGC) contained a concentrated cells of three types which are ,the medium pear shape neuron , medium fusiform neuron , and medium multipolar neuron.
The present work describes the adsorption of Ba2+ and Mg2+ions from aqueous solutions by activated alumina in single and binary system using batch adsorption. The effect of different parameters such as amount of alumina, concentration of metal ions, pH of solution, contact time and agitation speed on the adsorption process was studied. The optimum adsorbent dosage was found to be 0.5 g and 1.5 g for removal of Ba2+ and Mg2+, respectively. The optimum pH, contact time and agitation speed, were found to be pH 6, 2h and 300 rpm, respectively, for removal of both metal ions. The determination of river pollution impact on the performance of water treatment plants is achieved by two main objectives. The first is to study raw and treated water qualities and comparing them with standards and the second is to evaluate the treatment plants efficiency. The analyzed data were those water quality parameters in relation to physical, chemical and bacteriological characteristics for river water and produced water by seven water treatment plants located on Tigris River passing through Baghdad City.
The results of this study indicated that all raw water characteristic are within the surface water standards established by Iraqi and USA criteria except Bacterial Counts.

In this research, a selection of some mineral water was selected on the basis of being the most marketed by the owners of shops in Najaf province, with six types, where daily samples of this water were taken by 50 ml for two months from (1/11/2018 -1/1/2019). The following ions concentrations were measured (Br-, Cl-, F-, NO3-, SO42-, Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+), pH and the electrical conductivity were measured and the results were compared with the allowable rates according to the international organizations.
