Back ground: The use of Montelukast in mild and moderate asthma has been studied ,allergic rhinitis or rhinitis and asthma are strongly inter related, Montelukast has been used in both conditions, whether treating rhinitis will improve asthma control ,a point which has been stressed recently.
Objectives: To evaluate the effect of Montelukast in mild and moderate asthma according to Global INitiative For Asthma guidelines ( GINA),and to compare its use in asthma alone and in asthma which is associated with persistant rhinitis symptoms.
Patients and methods: Seventy patients who fulfill the criteria of mild and moderate asthma according to Global INitiative For Asthma guidelines had been recruited from the consultation clinic of the respiratory diseases in Baghdad Teaching Hospital from the 111st.July 2009 to 31st. December 2010,patients were divided in to 2 groups : Group – 1 patients with asthma only which was subdivided into 2 sub groups: 1-a on salbutamol inhaler on need and 1-b on beclomethasone inhaler 800Mgm/day in addition to salbutamol inhaler on need. Group- 2 patients with asthma and rhinitis which was sub divided in to subgroups: 2-a on salbutamol inhaler on need and 2-b on beclomethasone 800Mgmlday in addition to salbutamol inhaler on need.
Evaluation of day and night time symptoms, records of rhinitis symptoms and measurement of FEV1(Forced Expiratory Volume in 1st. second) and FEF 25-75%(Forced Expiratory Flow)were done to all patients . Montelukast 10 mg/ day was given to all patients for 4 weeks, and reevaluation for day , night time symptoms , rhinitis symptoms and measurement of FEV1 and FEF 25-75% were done .
Results: There was a significant statiscal improvement in day , night time symptoms , FEV1 , FEF 25-75% and rhinitis symptoms after Montelukast treatment than before treatment ( p value < 0.05), Montelukast use in asthma alone as compared to its use in asthma which was associated with rhinitis did not show a significant statiscal improvement in outcome response in day, night symptoms and in percentage of change in FEV1 and FEF25-75% (p value>0.05) .
Conclusion: Montelukast improved day , night time symptoms , FEV1 , FEF 25-75% in mild and moderate asthma ,it also improved rhinitis symptoms but Montelukast use in asthma alone as
compared to its use in asthma which was associated with rhinitis did not show a significant statiscal imrovement in asthma control regarding day, night time symptoms,FEV1 and FEF25-75% values .
In this study, we propose a suitable solution for a non-linear system of ordinary differential equations (ODE) of the first order with the initial value problems (IVP) that contains multi variables and multi-parameters with missing real data. To solve the mentioned system, a new modified numerical simulation method is created for the first time which is called Mean Latin Hypercube Runge-Kutta (MLHRK). This method can be obtained by combining the Runge-Kutta (RK) method with the statistical simulation procedure which is the Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) method. The present work is applied to the influenza epidemic model in Australia in 1919 for a previous study. The comparison between the numerical and numerical simulation res

People would leave their tweets on social media about an event, and simultaneously inquire to see other people's experiences and whether they had a positive/negative opinion about that event. Sentiment Analysis can be used to obtain this categorization. Product reviews, events, and other topics from all users that comprise unstructured text comments are gathered and categorized as good, harmful, or neutral using sentiment analysis. Such issues are called polarity classifications. This study aims to use Twitter data about OK cuisine reviews obtained from the Amazon website and compare the effectiveness
... Show MoreThe Wang-Ball polynomials operational matrices of the derivatives are used in this study to solve singular perturbed second-order differential equations (SPSODEs) with boundary conditions. Using the matrix of Wang-Ball polynomials, the main singular perturbation problem is converted into linear algebraic equation systems. The coefficients of the required approximate solution are obtained from the solution of this system. The residual correction approach was also used to improve an error, and the results were compared to other reported numerical methods. Several examples are used to illustrate both the reliability and usefulness of the Wang-Ball operational matrices. The Wang Ball approach has the ability to improve the outcomes by minimi

Show MoreThis paper presents stochastic analysis using the perturbation method to model the structure of a container to verify the distributions of probability of maximum and minimum axial forces reactions in piles. The proposed simulation of a container port terminal under 11 scenarios of load combinations was presented. The probability distributions for live loads are assigned according to the input parameters of simulation data. Part of the load itself is implicitly combined such as vertical live load which includes the weight of equipment and containers and wind load. The structural model was simulated in the software STAAD Pro., while the statistical analyses were performed with MATLAB. The results demonstrated that, the most significant extern

The principle of equality is considered one of the fundamental principles of the public rights and freedoms; therefore, all authorities must sponsor equality and maintain it, even though it is difficult to achieve equality in absolute terms among all individuals. The constitutional courts use various concepts that affect their rulings, based on their interpretation and determination of the concept of the principle of equality, because there are several understandings of the “principle of equality”.

It is a challenge for structural engineers to develop efficient retrofitting techniques that enable RC slabs to restore their structural integrity, after being exposed to intense fires for a long period of time. Experimental
investigation was carried out on twenty one slab specimens made of self compacting concrete, eighteen of them are retrofitted with CFRP sheets after burning and loading till failure while three of them (which represent control specimens) are retrofitted with CFRP sheet after loading till failure without burning. All slabs had been tested in a
Banking reforms in many countries have focused on the efficiency enhance of the banking sector, including Iraq, in terms of indicative steps based on recommendations, policies and standards developed by international organizations, foremost of which are Basel III. In this paper, it has tried to highlight the reforms in Basel III and the impact of these reforms on the stability of the banking system in Iraq. As the research derives its importance from the idea that the sound banking system consists of a group of banks capable of employing their assets and obligations efficiently in financial intermediation and enjoying financial solvency. The stability of the banking system is an important factor in achieving the leading role of t

This problem has many of solutions in search space to generate Sudoku grid by using magic square of odd order as 3. This research concludes solution by proposed heuristic algorithm from magic square of odd order as 3 and no given numbers (from 1 to 9) in each cell of nine Sudoku grid cells in starting of problem solution, this is not similar the solution in old classic methods to generate all sub grids in Sudoku grid. The experimental results in this paper show the easily implementation to solve the problem to manage without manual method, additional to position of numbers (1, 2,..9) in center of each sub grid in Sudoku grid

It is one of the important matters that occupy the ideas of those concerned with linguistic studies, whether Arabic or otherwise. Recent years have witnessed the advancement of this methodological approach, and books and studies in Arabic have been written on important, multifaceted issues, of grammatical and linguistic origins, and their balance with new developments and ideas attracted mostly from Western studies.
The comparative approach - as they call it - is one of the modern approaches that is based on balancing a language with other sisters belonging to its family, to reach similarities and differences between them, and to know the c
