Objectives : The study aims to assessing nurses’ knowledge concerning peritonitis- dialysis association at the
peritoneal dialysis units, and to identifying the relationship between some nurses’ knowledge and some of their
demographic characteristic.
Methodology : A descriptive study was carried out at the peritoneal dialysis units in Baghdad Teaching
Hospitals started from November 29th 2004 to August 15th, 2005. A purposive sample of (52) nurses was
selected from Baghdad Teaching Hospitals. The data were collected through the use of constructed
questionnaire, which comprised of (97) items as an interview questionnaire technique as mean of data
collection. The reliability of the instrument was determined through a pilot study and the validity through a
panel of experts. The data were analyzed through the application of descriptive statistical analysis that includes
frequency and percentage, the application of inferential statistics that include the mean of score and Chi-square
test.
Results : The findings of the study indicated that the peritoneal dialysis nurses have inadequate knowledge
about general information concerning peritonitis- dialysis association was, acceptable, knowledge in diagnosis
and treatment and adequate knowledge in prevention of peritonitis- dialysis association.
Recommendations: it is recommended that special peritoneal dialysis training program and booklets should be
designed and presented to these nurses
This field experiment, was conducted to investigate a comparison of two methods for harvesting potatoes: mechanical and handy when using moldboard and chisel plow for primary tillage and three different distances for planting tubers in the rows 15, 25, and 35 cm in silt clay loam soil south of Baghdad. The factorial experiment followed a randomized complete block design with three replications using L.S.D. 5 % and 1 %. Mechanical harvest recorded the best valid potato tubers at 88.78 %, marketable yield of 31.74 ton. ha-1, efficiency lifted 95.68 %, tubers damage index 28.41, speeding up the harvesting process and reducing time and effort. Sewage sludge samples were collected from Al-rasafa and Al-karkh refinement stations which represent the main stations of Baghdad city. Samples were collected from all treatment stages: before, after, and during refinement processes. The High Purity Germanium Coaxial Detector system with energy resolution 1.8 keV for energy line 1333 keV of Co – 60 radioactive sources was used to measure radioactivity from both natural and artificial sources. GENIE – 2000 analysis the results statistically and qualitatively. Methodology: A quasi-experimental study design was conducted during the period of (4th July 2018 through 24th October 2018) on non-probability of (60) women (30) of them were a control group and (30) were the study group whom admitted to Al-Elwyia Maternity Teaching Hospital suffering from labor pain.
