Assessment of Postoperative Nurses' Interventions for the Patients with Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy at Baghdad Teaching Hospitals
...Show More Authors

Objective: The study aimed to assess the postoperative nurses' intervention for the patients with laparoscopic
cholecystectomy and to determine the relationship between Nurses' interventions and their demographic
characteristics.
Methodology: Quantitative design (a descriptive study) was started from 20th November 2012 up to 1st
September 2013. Non-probability (purposive sample) of (50) nurses, who were working in surgical wards, were
selected from Baghdad teaching hospitals (Baghdad Teaching Hospital, Digestives System and Liver Teaching
Hospital, AL-Kindy Teaching Hospital, and AL-Kadhimiyia Teaching Hospita). The data were collected through
the use of a constructed questionnaire, which consisted of two parts; the first part includes the page of
demographic data which contains (10) items and the second part which includes (5) domains in (46) subdomain
of postoperative nurses' interventions for the patients with laparoscopic cholecystectomy, through
direct observant approach by the mean of the designed interventions checklist, Reliability of the questionnaire
was determined through a pilot study and the validity through a panel of (12) experts. Descriptive statistical
analysis procedures (frequency, percentage, mean of score, Standard Deviation and Relative Sufficiency), and
inferential statistical analysis procedures (Reliability Coefficient, contingency coefficient and chi- square test)
were used for the data analysis under application of the statistical package of social science (SPSS) ver. (10.0).
Results: The findings of the study indicated that there is a weak assessment of postoperative nurses'
interventions for the patients with laparoscopic cholecystectomy at Baghdad teaching hospitals, and the
findings indicated that the most of study items responding of questionnaire were (84.78%) significant
differences. There was no significant relationship between nurses' gender, age, years of experience and their
assessment, while there was significant relationship between the level of education, sharing in training sessions
which established (by the hospital, by other hospitals, or by other institutions), duration of the training session,
Number of training sessions and assessment of postoperative nurses' interventions

Recommendations: The study recommended that special training session, concerning all nurses' surgical wards
for postoperative nursing interventions (Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Patient) at inside or outside Iraq, and
booklets should be designated and presented to all nurses' surgical wards, in addition to increasing the number
of professional nurses' graduate from the colleges of nursing to the enrolled in surgical wards.

The Impact of Teaching by Using STEM Approach in The Development of Creative Thinking and Mathematical Achievement Among the Students of The Fourth Scientific Class.
...Show More Authors

The research aims to know the impact of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education on both creative thinking and mathematical achievement. To achieve it, the two researchers followed the quasi-experimental approach with an experimental design for two groups, one experimental and the other a control. The research sample consisted of (32) female students from the fourth scientific grade in Al-Intisar Preparatory School for Girls/ AlRasafa, First Directorate. The sample was chosen intentionally and was divided into two groups: a control group studying by the traditional method, their number (16), and an experimental group that applied the STEM approach, their number also (16). There was parity between the two research groups i

Recurrent Stroke Prediction using Machine Learning Algorithms with Clinical Public Datasets: An Empirical Performance Evaluation
...Show More Authors

Recurrent strokes can be devastating, often resulting in severe disability or death. However, nearly 90% of the causes of recurrent stroke are modifiable, which means recurrent strokes can be averted by controlling risk factors, which are mainly behavioral and metabolic in nature. Thus, it shows that from the previous works that recurrent stroke prediction model could help in minimizing the possibility of getting recurrent stroke. Previous works have shown promising results in predicting first-time stroke cases with machine learning approaches. However, there are limited works on recurrent stroke prediction using machine learning methods. Hence, this work is proposed to perform an empirical analysis and to investigate machine learning al

Meiobenthic Invertebrates Community Associated with Aquatic plant Ceratophyllum demersum Salamiyat irrigation canal / north Baghdad
...Show More Authors

The aim of the present study is to study the meiobenthic invertebrate's community associated with the aquatic plant Ceratophyllum demersum in Al-Salamiyat irrigation canal / north Baghdad, with the chemical and physical parameters of the canal water, during the study period from September 2015 to May 2016. Two sites were chosen for sample collection, the first site (S1) at the beginning of the canal near it's connection with Tigris river, and the second site (S2) after 10 km from the first site. The chemico-physical analysis results revealed that the water temperature ranged from 10-30oC, and pH values ranged between 6.9-7.8, and the dissolved oxygen concentration and the BOD values from 7.2-9.2 mg/l, and 1.2-5.4 mg/l, respectively. The present paper aims at evaluating the vailability quality and future horizons of potable water in the city of Shatra as a model. This is done in accordance with certain subjective and objective factors alongside the classification map of Shatra as a residential area. This system follows geographical studies specialized in urban construction. The problem of the present paper as well as the data approaching that problem have been chosen from the records of 2018. The researcher offered (919) questionnaire forms to be answered by a sample of dwellers in that area. Besides, the researcher also followed lab analysis of water samples collected from districts in the city of Shatra. GIS technology was also used to arrive at the real water shar

Risk factors can be considered unique in construction projects, especially in tendering phase. This research is directed to recognize and evaluate the importance of critical risk factors in the tendering phase related to Iraq’s construction project. As a rule, construction projects are impacted by risk factors throughout the project life cycle; without identifying and allocating these risk factors, the project cannot succeed. In this paper, the open and closed questionnaires are used to categorize the critical risk factors in tendering phase. Research aims to recognize the factors that influence the success of tendering phase, to determine the correct response to the risk’s factors in this research article, (IBM, SPSS, V23) package has
