“Examine the Multi-Scattering Effect on the Detected Backscattering Photons By Cometary Molecules”

The effect of multiple scattering on the detected γ-photons at the surface of Hyakutake comet, which emitted from the radioisotope 137Cs were studied and compared the results with the single scattering case. Also the multiple scattering results were gathered with the single scattering case and investigate the effect. The calculations were conducted to analyze the variation of counts rate with source detector separation and the source of energy. Monte Carlo (MC) method was used to simulate the scattering and absorption of photons in semi-infinite material by developing the program in FORTRAN language (77 - 90) for this purpose. The distance between the source and the detector takes values of 1, 2,….5 cm, the results showed that single scattering gives a maximum counts generally at distances between 3 and 4 cm, while the multiple scattering case appears increasing as the source detector distance increased.

A Case Report of a Late-Onset Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Like- Induced by Carbamazepine Therapy

A case of systemic lupus erythematosus like induced by carbamazepine therapy in a 27 year old female patient with left sided trigeminal neuralgia had been recorded, 9 years from starting carbamazepine therapy. The patient condition improved clinically 3 days after withdrawal of
carbamazepine , the titer of antinuclear antibodies dropped from 1/640 to 1/80 after 3 weeks, and disappear completely after 6 months follow up.

Orbital Prosthesis Rehabilitation in Biomedical Engineering by Means of Computer Vision-Photogrammetry and 3D Prototyping

Eye loss may be caused as a result of eye trauma, accidents, or malignant tumors, which leads the patient to undergo surgery to remove the damaged parts. This research examines the potential of computer vision represented by Structure from Motion (SfM) photogrammetry in fabricating the orbital prosthesis as a noninvasive and low-cost technique. A low-cost camera was used to collect the data towards extracting the dense 3D data of the patient facial features following Structure from Motion-Multi View Stereo (SfM-MVS) algorithms. To restore the defective orbital, a Reverse Engineering (RE) based approach has been applied using the similarity RE algorithms based on the opposite healthy eye to rehabilitate the defected orbital precisely

Finding Best Clustering For Big Networks with Minimum Objective Function by Using Probabilistic Tabu Search

Fuzzy C-means (FCM) is a clustering method used for collecting similar data elements within the group according to specific measurements. Tabu is a heuristic algorithm. In this paper, Probabilistic Tabu Search for FCM implemented to find a global clustering based on the minimum value of the Fuzzy objective function. The experiments designed for different networks, and cluster’s number the results show the best performance based on the comparison that is done between the values of the objective function in the case of using standard FCM and Tabu-FCM, for the average of ten runs.

TOTAL AND MATRIC SUCTION MEASUREMENT OF UNSATURATED SOILS IN BAGHDAD REGION BY FILTER PAPER METHOD

Soil suction is one of the most important parameters describing the moisture condition of unsaturated soils. The measurement of soil suction is crucial for applying the theories of the engineering behavior of unsaturated soils.
The filter paper method is one of the soil suction measurement techniques In this paper, five soil samples were collected from five sites within Baghdad city – al-Rasafa region. These soils have different properties and they were prepared at different degrees of saturation. For each sample, the total and matric suction were measured by the filter paper method at different degrees of saturation. Then correlations were made between the soil properties and the total and matric suction. It was concluded that the

Sculptured Surface Design and Implementation by Lofting Design Method Using Cross-sectional B-Spline Curves

This research presents a particular designing strategy for a free form of surfaces, constructed by the lofting design method. The regarded surfaces were created by sliding a B-spline curves (profile curves), in addition to describing an automatic procedure for selective identification of sampling points in reverse engineering applications using Coordinate Measurement Machine. Two models have been implemented from (Ureol material) to represent the different cases of B-spline types to clarify its scope of application. The interior data of the desired surfaces was designed by MATLAB software, which then were transformed to UG-NX9 software for connecting the sections that were designed in MATLAB program and obtaining G-code programs for the

Assessment of shear bond strength of glass ionomer cement reinforced by different amounts of Hydroxyapatite

Background: This study was done to assist bond strength of glass ionomer cement reinforced by different amount of Hydroxyapatite
Materials and methods: In this study a hydroxyapatite materials were added to glass ionomer cement at different ratios; 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% (by weight) and the bond strength was detected by construction a cylinders from these mixed materials, constructed on exposed dentine of human extracted premolar teeth and by Zwick’s universal testing machine the bond strength were detected for these mixed materials.
Results: Results showed that the glass ionomer cement reinforced by hydroxyapatite has higher bond strength than conventional glass ionomer cement and the hydroyapat
