In this paper, the propose is to use the xtreme value distribution as the rate of occurrence of the non-homogenous Poisson process, in order to improve the rate of occurrence of the non-homogenous process, which has been called the Extreme value Process. Mauddud Formation (Albian stage-the Early Cretaceous) is an important oil reservoir in Ratawi field of southern Iraq. Four wells, R T-2, R T-3, R T-6, and R T-7, located 70 km northwest of Basra, were selected to study microfacies properties and petrophysical associations with the probability of oil production. Seventy-seven core samples are collected, and thin sections for petrographic analysis. Three Seismic Attributes are used to enhance or delineate geologic feature that cannot be detected within seismic resolution limit. These are Instantaneous Amplitude, Instantaneous Phase and Instantaneous Frequency Attributes. These are applied along two defined picked surface horizons within 3D seismic data for an area in southern Iraq. Two geologic features are deduced, the first represents complex channel system at the top of Saadi Formation and the second represents submarine fan within Mishrif Formation. The semblances of these ancient geological features are dramatically enhanced by using flattening technique.

A total of 28 birds were examined to investigate about the distribution of the nematode Hadjelia truncata among some members of the avian family Columbidae in Al-Diwaniya Province, Central Iraq. The percentages of the infection rate with this nematode were 27.27, 37.5, 14.28 and 0 in Columba livia, C. palumbis, Streptopelia decaocto, and S. turtur respectively. Reporting Hadjelia truncata from Streptopelia decaocto constitutes a new host record.
