Non Linear Optical Properties of Silver Nanoparticles
...Show More Authors

In the present work, a Z-scan technique was used to study the nonlinear optical properties, represented by the nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear absorption coefficients of the Ag nanoparticles. In this technique, a pulsed second harmonic Nd :YAG laser at wavelength 532 nm was used. The results show that the nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear absorption coefficients of the Ag nanoparticles are found to be dependent on the size these nanoparticles.

Superconducting Properties of Bi2-xPb0.3WxSr2Ca2Cu3O10+ Compounds
...Show More Authors

The conventional solid-state reaction method was utilized to prepare a series of superconducting samples of the nominal composition Bi2-xPb0.3WxSr2Ca2Cu3O10+d with 0≤x≤0.5 of 50 nm particle size of tungsten sintered at 8500C for 140h in air . The influence of substitution with W NPs at bismuth (Bi) sites was characterized by the X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and dc electrical resistivity. Room temperature X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that there exists two phases, i.e. Bi-(2223) and Bi-(2212), in addition to the impurity phases of (SrCa) 2Cu2O3, Sr2Ca2Cu7<

Crystal Properties 4SO2Influence of Doping on K
...Show More Authors

Single crystals of pure and Cu+2,Fe+2 doped potassium sulfate were grown from aqueous solutions by the slow evaporation technique at room temperature. with dimension of (11x9 x4)mm3 and ( 10x 8x 5)mm3 for crystal doping with Cu &Fe respectively. The influence of doping on crystal growth and its structure revealed a change in their lattice parameters(a=7.479 Ã… ,b=10.079 Ã… ,c=5.772 Ã…)for pure and doping (a=9.687 Ã…, b=14.926 Ã… ,c= 9.125 Ã…) & (a=9.638 Ã… , b= 8.045 Ã… ,c=3.271 Ã…) for Cu & Fe respectively. Structure analysis of the grown crystals were obtained by X-Ray powder diffraction measurements. The diffraction patterns were analyzed by the Rietveld refinement method. Rietveld refinement plo

Sensing Properties of (In2O3:Eu) Thin Films
...Show More Authors

Thin films of iridium doped indium oxide (In2O3:Eu)with different doping ratio(0,3,5,7,and 9%) are prepared on glass and single crystal silicon wafer substrates using spray pyrolysis method. The goal of this research is to investigate the effect of doping ratio on of the structural, optical and sensing properties . The structure of the prepared thin films was characterized at room temperature using X-ray diffraction. The results showed that all the undoped and doped (In2O3:Eu)samples are polycrystalline in structure and nearly stoichiometric. UV-visible spectrophotometer in the wavelength range (200-1100nm)was used to determine the optical energy gap and optical constants. The optical transmittance of 83% and the optical band gap of 5.2eV

Gamma ray effect on the properties of R590 and C480 laser dyes
...Show More Authors

In the current research, we investigated the absorption spectrum for R590 and C480 dyes in ethanol solvent for different dye solution concentrations of 10-4, 10-5 and 10-6M. These dyes have been prepared and studied before and after gamma irradiation (first, second ionization) using cesium-137 source with absorbed doses of 18.36 Gy (time exposure of 10 days) and 73.44 Gy (with time exposure of 40 days). We noticed that the absorption intensity was decreased with decreasing concentration, before gamma irradiation while the absorption spectrum peak shifted towards the short wavelength (blue shift). It was also found that the intensity of absorption spectrum increased and shifted the absorption spectrum peak towards the long wavelength (red

Natural Convective Heat Transfer in an Inclined Open Porous Cavity with Non-Uniformly Heated Wall
...Show More Authors

Theoretical and experimental investigations of free convection through a cubic cavity with sinusoidal heat flux at bottom wall, the top wall is exposed to an outside ambient while the other walls are adiabatic saturated in porous medium had been approved in the present work. The range of Rayleigh number was and Darcy number values were . The theoretical part involved a numerical solution while the experimental part included a set of tests carried out to study the free convection heat transfer in a porous media (glass beads) for sinusoidal heat flux boundary condition. The investigation enclosed values of Rayleigh number (5845.6, 8801, 9456, 15034, 19188 and 22148) and angles of inclinations (0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 degree). The numerical an

Particle-Hole State Density Calculations with Non-Equidistant Spacing Model: II. Pairing and Exact Treatment
...Show More Authors

In an earlier paper, the basic analytical formula for particle-hole nuclear state densities was derived for non-Equidistant Spacing Model (non-ESM) approach. In this paper, an extension of the former equation was made to include pairing. Also a suggestion was made to derive the exact formula for the particle-hole state densities that depends exactly on Fermi energy and nuclear binding energies. The results indicated that the effects of pairing reduce the state density values, with similar dependence in the ESM system but with less strength. The results of the suggested exact formula indicated some modification from earlier non-ESM approximate treatment, on the cost of more calculation time

Hierarchical non-singular terminal sliding mode controller for a single link flexible joint robot manipulator
...Show More Authors

—This paper studies the control motion of a single link flexible joint robot by using a hierarchical non-singular terminal sliding mode controller (HNTSMC). In comparison to the conventional sliding mode controller (CSMC), the proposed algorithm (NTSMC) not only can conserve characteristics of the convention CSMC, such as easy implementation, guaranteed stability and good robustness against system uncertainties and external disturbances, but also can ensure a faster convergence rate of the systems states to zero in a finite time and singularity free. The flexible joint robot (FJR) is a two degree of freedom (2DOF) nonlinear and underactuated system. The system here is modeled as a fourth order system by using Lagrangian method. Based on t
