Regeneration of Engine Used Oils by Solvent Extraction
...Show More Authors

The regeneration of used oil is one of the essential processes for economical, industrial and environmental targets. Used oil is rich of hydrocarbons, metals (such as: aluminium, chromium, copper, iron, lead, manganese, nickel, silicon and tin), gasoline, water and antifreeze. Due to the high increasing rate of the number of cars, there is a huge quantity of used oil. In this study, different brands of used oil were involved in extraction and adsorption processes as a regeneration process of these used oils. The optimum conditions were determined such as solvents composition, solvent: oil ratio, KOH concentration and temperature. The solvent mixture of 40% of petroleum ether, 11% of 1-butanol and 4% of 2-propanol has shown the best results in removing sludge. The 3:1 (solvent: oil) ratio may be considered as the best ratio practically and economically.

Production of Lactic Acid by lactobacilli using Legume Flours
...Show More Authors

Due to their high nutritional value, richness in carbohydrates and good source of protein, legumes are considered essential for human diet. Legumes flours were used as fermentable material for lactic acid production. Hence, previously isolated lactobacilli strains were used in this study. The strains showed strong microbial growth and their survival in glucose-containing MRS medium and were described using a modified Gompertz equation. Lactobacilli exhibited the shortest latency phase in MRS-glucose medium. While the highest lactic acid produced was 15.40g/l by Lpb. pentosus U1 isolate after 48hours. Furthermore, these strains were evaluated in flours samples for acidification capacity. The results showed a decrease

Some Theorems of Fixed Point Approximations By Iteration Processes
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>The purpose of this paper, is to study different iterations algorithms types three_steps called, new iteration, M ∗ −iteration, k −iteration, and Noor-iteration, for approximation of fixed points. We show that the new iteration process is faster than the existing leading iteration processes like M ∗ −iteration, k −iteration, and Noor-iteration process, for like contraction mappings. We support our analytic proof with a numerical example.</p>

Corrosion and Corrosion Inhibition of α-Brass by Thiourea
...Show More Authors

The corrosion behavior and corrosion inhibition of α-brass (65.3% Cu, 34.4% Zn and others 0.3%) in 0.6 mol.dm-3 NaCl solution have been investigated using potentiostatic polarization technique, the main results obtained were expressed in terms of corrosion (Ec) and corrosion current (ic). The research was performed in neutral and slightly acidic media [pH=7 and pH=4] over the temperature range (288-318)K. It was found that the rate of corrosion increases with the increase of acidity and the increase of temperature. The rate of corrosion increased with the increase of temperature in conformity with Arrhenius equation. Values of activation energy (Ea*), pre-exponential factor (A) and entropy of activation (∆S*) have been derived f

Treatment of Oral Conditions by 810 nm Diode Laser
...Show More Authors

When laser light incident on biological tissue, it is either reflected from the
surface of the tissue (e.g. the skin) or scattered inside the tissue or absorbed .The laser light will be
absorbed by water, hemoglobin and melanin. Absorption is also highly dependent on wave-length of
laser radiation. The absorbed light is converted into kinetic energy leading to laser effect that when
appropriately applied can produce reaction ranging from incision, vaporization to coagulation. Aim of
the study: To evaluate the efficiency of diode Laser 810 ± 20nm in treatment of oral lesions. Methods:
6 patients (2 females and 4 males) with different oral lesions were treated in the hospital of specialized
surgeries by the use of dio

Competitive Adsorption of Three Reactive Dyes by Activated Carbon
...Show More Authors

In this study three reactive dyes (blue B, red R and yellow Y) in single , binary and ternary solution were adsorbed by activated carbon AC in equilibrium and kinetic experiments. Surface area, Bulk and real density, and porosity were carried out for the activated carbon.
Batch Experiments of pH (2.5-8.5) and initial concentration (5-100) mg/l were carried out for single solution for each dye. Experiments of adsorbent dosage effect (0.1-1)g per 100 ml were studied as a variable to evaluate uptake% and adsorption capacity for single dyes(5, 10) ppm, binary and ternary (10) ppm of mixture solutions solution of dyes. Langmuir, and Freundlich, models were used as Equilibrium isotherm models for single solution. Extended Langmuir and Freun

Abstract

The current study was carried out to reveal the plasma parameters such as ,the electron temperature ( ), electron density (ne) , plasma frequency (fp), Debye length ( ) , Debye number (   for  CdS to employ the LIBS for the purpose of analyzing and determining spectral emission lines using . The results of electron temperature for CdS range (0.746-0.856) eV , the electron density(3.909-4.691)×1018 cm-3. Finally ,we discuss plasma parameters of CdS  through  nano second  laser generated plasma .
